    hello everyone...did ya miss me?

Tomorrow I go to the doctor. I'm so happy to be going. I'll learn what my x-rays say about my back, when we are setting up the thyroid surgery and what med's are being changed to start with. I've been on bed rest since my back went out twice this past month. I sort of recovered to my "normal" self from the first time but on that second one, I wasn't so lucky. i still can't sit up for long periods and when I lay down, I best be in the spot of comfort right off the bat 'cuz the act of turning/moving has me in tears. I know it's bad when the T3's aren't working as they should. It's tough enough trying to do any reading while I"m laid out. Thankfully my son understands my health issues and rolls with it. We started on his "Flat Curtis" blocks and he was very happy with that. I'll see if Steve can take a couple pictures of the progress to share with y'all.

But I did get my package out via... my quilty friend put it together with some her fabric and I was able to pen a note together for it and added something I think she might enjoy using. It's going East -- but not too far. And has been a top kite-boarding desination.

Well I'm off moving slower than molasses in winter.

Hoping everyone is getting along fine. Lots of prayers going out. I'm working on my 2 SP's. I believe I have had both of you before. One I think I have had twice already.
I need to do some shopping though for both of you. I did pick up goodies for your sweet tooth's. You both have dogs. You both have embroidery machines. You both read the same kind of books. hmmm no more clues today. Oh ok, one sp is south of me and one is south/west of me. Have a great week everyone!

Mine is off too - got it away early, as tomorrow I'm going to the Festival of Quilts in Birmingham (UK)! It's the largest quilt show in the UK. As it's a bit last minute, I haven't managed to book any lectures or workshops, but I might be able to book on the day. It's a seven hour drive, so we'll be staying two nights

My parcel us going to someone who, as far as I can see, doesn't post on the thread. She is quite specific in her wants, but I can't get what she wants here.

    Default Overdue Pix

I am finally back home after being away from my "real" computer for almost a full month. I owe a couple very generous swappers some posted pictures from June and July, and I wanted to make sure everyone saw them:

The first picture is the package from June from jaclinganrey. She also included a bag of Milky Ways which had a very short life span after unpacked. She also packed in a bag full of fabric scraps for my scrap quilts, some great tote patterns, and an always-welcome pin cushion. The Quilters Inspirations book is a great read, and I hope to be able to pass it on when I'm done so someone else will get the same chance to enjoy it. Thanks again for all, Jaclinganrey.

The next two pictures are the package from Sewdamncute, which I received for July. She made a great pin cushion from a votive candle holder (great idea which I am going to steal) and sent an adorable pin made of stiffened paper depicting a quilt block (colored purple, shown on card). The stain glass copy of a star block is already hanging on my sewing room window. She also included scraps, fat quarters, a lint remover, patterns, a mystery quilt book (next up on my reading pile), and dog biscuts for my five four-legged kids. Thank you so much for a very personal package.

Both of you really made the last two months fun with your swap packages. And after babysitting for my four granddaughters ages 15 mos thru 11 years, I needed some fun! I'm exhausted mentally and physically.

NancyinLouisiana thanks for sharing those pics and they appear as great packages. Saw the book and now will be looking for it since I love quilt mystery novels! This morning I woke up with a grandiose headache, took two tylenols and am work now. I will be working on finishing my pkg for my SP so that it could be mailed out on Monday. The heat here is getting to me lately (I do a lot of my work outside) but I do take my water breaks and a/c ones too. Knittete have fun at the quilt show and take pics for us!

My spal has a Janome and embroidery machine , likes Christmas and has a dog. I just made a quilt and the block had the name of her state in it.
