Finally got this mystery put together. Sewing is a little slow here with the chemo and radiation but it's finally done. Needs to be quilted yet but that can wait or a tad. Wanted mine a little bigger too and had all these blue 5" squares so I cut them in half and made a piano key border. Not sure it's my favorite border but decided to use some "stuff" that I had. Thanks for the mystery it was so fun.Name: DSCF3864.JPG

Jaba your mystery quilt looks nice. I am trying to decide if I am going to put on a border myself.
SheriR...you were talking about a border did you do one?

"Scarredy" Cat On Point Quilter here. (aka WMUTeach) I finally got it figured out, laid out diagonal strips, and Rats I discovered my triangles were the incorrect size, 8 3/4 rather the 9 3/4. Cut more and started adding them and then putting the first 4 rows together and Ta-Da! It works. I am glowing. Tomorrow should finish the top. I like the piano keys addition like Jaba's. I may do that but will likely just use scraps rather than a single color way.

I will try again to post photos when I get this top finished.

My August birthday candies went out in the mail Monday.

I love the boarder, Jaba. I have lots of strips cut in various colors, I'm going to seriously think about doing the piano keys border.

Lovely quilt, Jaba. I like the mix of color you chose. I’m still lagging way behind on this and it doesn’t look like it’ll get done anytime soon. But I do enjoy everyone’s pix.

It ended up 64" X 81". I still would like it wider but guess this will work.

Thank you ladies, I just need to get it quilted. Not quite enough energy to load it on the long arm but hopefully soon. Doctor tomorrow to find out if I'm healed enough to start radiation again, actually hope so then it will be done.

Gorgeous quilt Jaba. Glad you are getting some sewing time.

I just want to let everyone know I will be on vacation Saturday to Saturday. Hubby and I are headed to Vegas for a firearms training.

Your mystery quilt is looking great, Jaba. I really like the addition of the scrappy blues border.

Lots of people going out of town...I am also. I leave on Monday and will be back the following Sunday. Hope to hit a few quilt shops on the way. I have not collected any of the row by rows this year. I haven't made one from all the other years so I have given up for now.

Enjoy your sons wedding Texastam..... such good memories you will be making.

Jaba.....what are the size of piano keys???? I have never made that border before. Real like it.

Also I have found another great quilt for a quilt a long. Going to wait for awhile. This one is pretty large and it will take up quite a few squares. I have to get permission first from the board here and also from the designer so it will be awhile.

I go to a AQS show in Grand Rapids Michigan on Aug 22nd. I am taking a bus trip with lots of ladies...it should be a fun time. That is where I found our last QAL and got the permission right then from the designer. So who knows I always keep my eyes open for these sweet candy squares.

I will be checking before I leave.

Jaba we wish you lots of love and prayers.
Everyone have fun on your vacations.
I spent the day, with my brother, at the Oregon coast. It is only 65 miles away.
I'm working on the mystery, slowly.

The piano key border is 2 1/2" X 5". I had a lot of 5" squares and just cut them in half Been a little under the weather the last day or so but scheduled to begin radiation again on Monday. Couple of weeks more I think and then done until the 6 week checkup. It will be so nice not having to travel, only about 40 miles round trip, everyday but it sure takes a bite of the each day. Thank you ladies for the compliments, just need to get it quilted. Hubby gone for the weekend but he's really good about helping me load a quilt so I'm sure he will next week. Makes it easier because I can just quilt a line or 2 and then leave it until I can do it again.

Safe travels for all who are traveling. I'm going to visit my sister over labor day weekend. She is learning to quilt, so I imagine we will be quilting all weekend.

Jaba, sending prayers and Hugs for continued recovery. Love your quilt with the nice border.
