I have three that I am going back and forth on. I have some with a little gold through it or a black with black flower print. Not sure yet.

Nope oat, I took it all apart and recut the black blocks, then went a little short on the 1/4" and waalaa! I love to hand sew though...but just had to try it again. I have a queen quilt that I did all the blocks by hand...it is how I learned to piece.

I didn't know that was a scant 1/4"...thanks so much for teaching me something today! So that is why it worked this time.

Quote: I think you forgot the scant 1/4" part of the instructions. That means sew it just on the other side of the 1/4" mark. When I did that everything came out perfect.

Quote: Thanks so much patti! The thing is it came up 1/8 to 1/4" to short..hmmm used the 1/4" foot. I am going to take them apart and do it by hand to see if they come out the correct size.
If they do then I will know that the foot don't work right with this machine. She is a 1916 and just might not be able to use the foot.

Yep, I had to unsew several times until I figured it out. Some days I'm not the brightest bulb in the socket....... :?: 8-)
I'm happy it worked for you. I know how long it takes to hand stitch, up until about 5 years ago, I did most of mine that way.
