Great fussy cutting on those blocks Marlena. Another great star block Biblio.

I was was going through my books and found a 365 different blocks. 12". I was excited until I realized I don't have the technical skill to do most of these. They give very short instructions on how to make the blocks. Can anyone suggest a good video on making Y seams?

A few weeks ago I went to NY for my fortieth high school reunion. I wasn't looking forward to it but I had talked my friend Donna into organizing it. She travelled around the country meeting classmates and convincing them to come to the reunion and spent two years organizing the events. There were four events. A Friday night meet and greet at a local bar, opening a time capsule at the junior high, the main event, and a barbecue the next day. There were scholarships for everyone who needed one. It was very fun. I decided I would just hug everyone hello because I wasn't sure if I had spent time with them in high school. Everyone was talking to everyone. At 40 years, no one was trying to prove anything. And you know what sewbizgirl, Like you, A lot of people did not have a great high school experience. The reunion was much better than high school. Everyone agreed. I was glad I went. I made new friends and reconnected with old ones. Made a new quilting friend, sent her a license plate. Plus I stayed up until 2:30 in the morning for two of the events. If I hadn't been on CA time that would never have happened. I'm making signature quilts for the two main organizers.

It's fun hearing about the class reunions and the fun everyone had. My 50 th is right around the corner. Have no idea what happened but their was some shake up and the ladies who were organizing everything quit and a new group took over. I plan on attending and after reading about your expierence I am looking forward to it.

Ok.....here is the "goof up" block. Can anyone see the seam where I added on? I tried to match the pattern in the fabric. Honest opinions please. I have checked with Jaba and she says she's ok with it but the OCD in me is still questioning this work.

Well my friend Donna had a lot of help but apparently she was a bit difficult to work with and a bit over the top. I was called in to reign her in a few times. (Skip the prom theme and top flight liquor). I think she got nervous about everything. She did a fantastic job and everyone really appreciated her but apparently some friendships were strained. She devoted two years of her life to it. I have to admit I was glad I was in CA i so couldn't be on the committees. I did some computer work and emailing for her.
