I love seeing all the blocks together. SBG, your finished quilt is so nice! The sashing is perfect. QM, your blocks work so well together! Kass, I love the variety of your blocks. You have a nice mix of light and dark backgrounds.

I get so excited looking at the pictures and scanning for my block

Here's my second and last lap quilt from the quail blocks. These are the other 9 blocks I received. Love them all so much and had a blast quilting them! Thank you quail girls...

Marija, I'm sorry, I didn't see this any earlier. I hope you are well very soon and able to joing us again in the future. Take care!

Sewbiz: I simply love your quilting. I hope to learn the QAYG method someday. I've looked at your tutorial and will give it a try soon. Nice finished quilts.

Thank you! I thought I should mention the above quilt is not done like my tutorial. The tute is for a narrow join strip where the blocks end up butted right against each other. With the Quail quilt, I used wider sashing strips to join. They involve cutting batting pieces to insert right before you sew down the final strip edge. Then you will have to go back and quilt something on top of the sashings , so the batting in them won’t ever shift. I just did easy meandering loops along the sashings.

The narrow join is easier but the wide allowed me to make a 9 block quilt bigger.

    Default Flimsy is Complete

I made some progress on my boom blocks. I have the top completed! I really like the way it turned out. It’s more masculine than I anticipated. Especially considering I started with a floral fabric. The layout has worked out well and I didn’t even put the last row on upside down.

I plan to get it basted and the quilting started this weekend.
