I am smitten! Smitten with all these chickens!! Aside from how they make me want to giggle because they're so cute and festive and those eyes just beg for a belly laugh - but your fabric selection and the applique is just perfect! So, so, very fun and sew, sew beautifully done!

BTW - I snooped over on the Sooners and l.o.v.e. your gorgeous block posted this afternoon! Cheesehead, your work is very impressive

I decided to hand stitch my chickens so I fused them all. Funnest blocks I have done in a long time. I am working on tropical fish now.

Both of you ladies are making the most adorable chicken blocks.

This is what I have been working on for the past few days. This is going to be the "class" project I am going to instruct at the local quilt shop in March. It is a table runner it is 18 x 41

Wow Kass, love the 4 patch posies on the blocks! The table runner is gorgeous and waaay beyond my skills. How many classes until the project is finished?

Hav4, great fabric you chose to use on the chickens! They are such a blast to work on, isn't this a fun project? I didn't buy the pattern and will just have to wait until March to make the next chicken, unless I cave and just buy the pattern. (DH just told me to "buy the pattern for Pete's sake")! I also downloaded the Gnomes, maybe I will work on that next until we receive our fat 8'th's.

At this point, we've received all but one set of F8s. I've emailed Darcyshannon with a reminder that they are due Thursday and am waiting to hear back from her. There's still time to keep to our schedule.

I just cut one f8 recently that was close, close, close. I automatically assumed (uh oh) that it was 11x18 but it was 10x18 and I came "this close" to messing it up. Don't assume like I did! Always check your fabric size first. If you think it's tight, please use Kassaundra's graph paper idea.

Cheesehead and Hav4boys, I love the chicken blocks you've made! They are so fun. I've downloaded Jan & Feb but probably won't get to them for a while.

Kassaundra, this is a beautiful piece. Lucky quilters who will get your personal instruction! Wish I could be there.

Thanks, I am going to give her the option 2 days (consecutive mondays) for the stacked cutting / piecing and layout. I will also be willing to do a third monday if she would like me to show how to stitch / flip QAYG. I really hope people don't think it is out of their skill level I was thinking for confidant beginner and up, it is just made of 2 size squares (one size square it cut in half)

Well I attempted a Star and had a fail. I think I know where I went wrong. Some of the triangles were cut incorrectly. Kluging doesn’t work on stars. I’m thinking those chickens look really cute. Chickens instead of stars.

Those chickens are so darn cute. Too bad I really dislike doing applique. I can do it, but it is torture for me.

Love the tablerunner. Kassaundra, hope everyone enjoys the class you teaching.

How could anyone not love those chickens?

Great idea for the table runner, Kass!
