Yay... looks like we will have our packages to play with early next week! I think we are all raring to go.

Kass, the orchid is super gorgeous. Like Libster, I just don't have the touch, so I admire those that do. Why would you water an orchid with ice cubes, I wonder? Slow delivery system?

I don't know why she does it that way other than she says she was taught to do it that way. She gives the miniatures one cube a week and the large ones get two cubes a week. Works for her, but it sure doesn't for me.

I don't know where it all got started (ice watering orchids) I know all the orchid groups adamantly oppose the idea. I haven't done it b/c it doesn't make sense to me to do that. Orchids are tropical there is no way in nature they would ever be exposed to ice of any kind. If the orchids are planted to the correct depth in the bark media the tops will be exposed to air, and ice that touches the actual plant will damage tissue (root or leaf).

Kass beautiful plant, like Libster I can’t keep them alive and respect those that can. But surprise Surprise I have kept my African Violet alive that was given to me in March when I had surgery.

Thank you for sharing those photos with us Kass... they are beautiful! Would love to go to a butterfly house. There is an exhibit at the Memphis Zoo where you go in a room that is open with birds and butterflies. Somehow they can't get out and they are not caged. I was a wonderful experience to be in there with them 'in the wild'.

Kass, the butterflies and the flowers are simply beautiful! The dahlia, the hibiscus and the cattapillar (sp) are my favorites. What a fun day you must have had.
