So many pretty blocks today! So much accomplished! My husband and I volunteered for welcome weekend at our daughters college -- his app said we walked 9.7 miles and the rest of the time we were standing!
Enjoy your weekend ladies!

GramE, I have some fabric left over, not a lot, but would be glad to send it to you if you need it. Let me know.
IrishMom, I couldn't have walked that far if I really really tried. This oxygen puts a kabosh on that real quick and you feel it, trust me you are panting for air. Hubby in pain tonight but he is coping. We'll make it, we're both to stubborn not to

I have a question for the group. What thread color would you use for this block? I want to follow the guidelines of using “matching” thread but I don’t have bright purple cotton thread, only poly.

Dark brown or black. I'm trying to watch that this year too, never really thought about it before as I always used a white or beige. Just an opinion

Jaba thank you for such a pretty block, I like the dark yellow. The pink in the one for Terriamn looks like a perfect match.
I’m glad to hear your hubby is on the mend.

Hav4B, that is a very striking block for Libster.

I should actually get time to sew tomorrow! It took two days and three trips to the school to get my 7th grader registered and have a tour, school starts Wednesday. We had a surprise party for my mom, and it was harder than usual to prepare since I’m staying with her. She’s having company tomorrow, so she cleaned for her own party without even knowing it.

I was taught to always use white thread so this time I changed to dark thread for the dark material.

Hi everyone. Re: the thread color, I had two people comment last round that the thread used on some blocks stood out when pressed. It was a case of white thread used with very dark colors. It’s been a comment I’ve heard several times in Booms past so I thought I’d try to address it. I’m not asking you to match every color, but use one that blends fairly well. My request was confusing. I apologize. I’d like your thread to blend, to disappear when possible. For me, I usually use one of three shades of grey almost exclusively. I find greys blend with most fabrics. Please don’t go buying a $13 purple aurofil for a single block, just use something that won’t jump out at you when the block is pressed and seam threads are sometimes visible. Thanks!

I’d pick a medium to dark grey. Greys blend pretty well with everything. Others like beiges.
