Good morning, Roses. It’s a lovely, cool morning in GA.

I’m going to go ahead and jump in here about making a second block from an F8. We went through a period of time some years back where lots of us were making second bonus blocks from the f8. I received comments that while it was a grand idea, the two blocks were considered short of the focus fabric. Many of our swappers preferred a block made with a goodly amount of the f8 fabric as opposed to two blocks made with small amounts. Please keep this in mind.

SBG and Cheeshead. Yesterday's assassination is revolting. Another life snuffed out due to what I can only imagine is hatred.

I'm sorry to hear about your goof. It seems to be going around a lot this round. Glad you were making the block too big rather than too small so you can salvage it. I made one block that had the f8 been an eighth narrower, I'd have been calling for more fabric. Didn't realize it when I started. Learned my lesson.

Yesterday was my time to goof up a block, realized I was making a 14" block just before the final two seams were to be sewn together, ugh! I have deconstructed the block and have everything cut down and will try sewing it again today. It was a block I hadn't made before and that's why I didn't catch the error sooner.

Cheese
SBG, love all your new blocks. The sunflowers are perfect.

WMUTeach. Love the light and dark block for GramE.

Wow very foggy here this morning and looks like we lost our crisp fall weather.

Hubby is going to the lake today for a long weekend. It’s probably our last long weekend at the lake. With my sister coming Tuesday I told him I would join him later in the day so I could sew a block or two first. It is the beginning of docks out, always a worrisome time for the wives hoping no one gets hurt because we are on a steep

Sewbiz your sunflower block is perfect. Wonderful fall colors. I am planning on using a collage of fall prints I have been hoarding as I love the fall colors.

I love table runners and have made so many over the years and constantly rotate them. BUT they were all made for my large formal dining room set. We now have a small table that sits 4 and the runners just overwhelm the table. I am sad and know I can make more but what looks best under the sunflower centerpiece is the size of a placemat. Boooo

Went on what I expected would be a nostalgic drive through the area around the cabin. It didn’t pull my heartstrings at all. It surprised me. Got back and settled in to starting the binding. Six inches in and I’m already bored to tears. I usually like it but I think the size is overwhelming. Well, if I do 24 inches per sitting, every day, I’ll be done in a couple of weeks. Janice, just do it! My new mantra. 18 more inches for today.

Terriamn, that’s too bad about your table runners. Downsizing is difficult on so many levels. Maybe your table runners can be used as wall hangings if you have room and they look right. Would have to find a suitable spot I suppose.

Back to the grind.

Janice, I do all my quilt binding by machine. I just don’t have the patience for that much hand stitching. Hope you have some sharp needles and some good movies to binge.

Sewed late last night and got these two blocks done, one for SusieQ and one for Cheese. Hope you like them, ladies.

I finished this for Ibex last night but the photo was toooo dark. Tried again in the sunlight and now it is a bit tipsy, those rolling waves get you every time!

Happy Beach Day!

Well, Cheesehead - you made one too large and I made one too small. LOL. I hope yours is as easy to fix as mine was. My bonus block for you now has a white border around it. *smile*

Hav4boys - That bee fabric is cute. I was aiming for a honeycomb effect; some people might see a soccer ball. The BONUS block may look more like a honey frame. I included a small bit of the bee fabric from my stash to make the BONUS block 12.5 inches.

Take care, everyone.

I will machine bind most donation quilts now but I don’t love the results. They’re ok but I’m a little unsteady and the sewing line is not as straight as I’d like. It’s better on small quilts.

Your two newest blocks are terrific. Love the green on Cheese’s especially.

So one of my sons took a look at the pic recently put out of the suspected assassin and he said it looked exactly like someone he knew years ago! I thought he was joking. Nope. He turned in a tip in all seriousness. Someone’s got to know this guy I guess. Can it be possible? My son did tell them that this is based on a friendship that ended 20 years ago and he’s probably wrong and we’re all hoping nothing comes of it.

A2P, you thought out of the box and into a hive! I do see a soccer ball, lol.

Great blocks SBG, love the block you made for me! I agree with Janice, that green looks great in the block.

WMU, your block for Ibex really shows off her fabric with the blue you chose, so pretty!

All2, the honeycomb idea for a block was brilliant, so was the beehive!

Got the oversized block cut down and sewn into a 12 1/2 inch block, so glad it went back together without any problems. I also got two blocks cut out today to sew tomorrow. Will post pictures tomorrow, I was up at 2am with my usual insomnia and lost most of my energy by noon today.
