WMUT, what a pretty block for Ibex... so "waterlike". Love that blue.
A2P, the bee blocks are great. I see a soccer ball too....
Janice, the police are probably getting tons of tips on who the assassin is right now. It's good your son turned in his info.
I'm working on finishing up three DNP baby quilts today, to donate on Saturday. I have two done to the bindings, and the third sandwiched and ready to quilt. May finish tonight.
I am down to my last two baggies of my first set. I might take a little break before starting the second set. (If I can stay away from the second set!).

Staying inside in AC as it’s 94 and very dry outside. Campground has a small rec room with free pinball machine, table shuffleboard and ping pong.

Dang Janice I forgot my quilt at home to finish my binding. Sure one of us will be heading some time in the next few days.
Whenever we head north we make a short detour to check out our old hunting land. For us it’s shocking to see how the owner let the land go to seed and has junk sitting everywhere. Bet the neighbors miss us
It is incredibly beautiful at the lake, no humidity, windows are open and there is a slight breeze. A very welcome change to the non stop wind that is usually here.
A couple blocks for today. A fall block for All2 pieces and a block for me. The block for me wasn’t what I envisioned but couldn’t find a third color to go with the fabric

MJP - so glad you had great one-on-one time with each grand. They will remember it.
We haven't ever taken the flu or COVID shots. We both had it once before any shots were out and that is that. I am one of those who do not trust it all but glad it is available to those who do.
WMUT - backed potatoes are great. When we go campging with groups (like this next weekend) one meal is baked potatos and everyone brings something to put on it - chili, cheese, bacon, pulled pork, broccolli - you name it!
Thank you MJP for allowing me to make Theo's block. I had fun even though I riped out most of it at least once. I kept mixing up the material. But I am happy with both and hope he will like it too. He will learn traditional vs modern blocks.

I've had a couple of issues come up.
Reminder that all blocks must be made 12-1/2 inches square and hopefully will be made with an eye to the fabric requests.
If you are making "extra" blocks, when you post them please note that they are "extra" and are not part of the requirement of one block per F8 you have received. If you don't do that, it confuses the group and me. I keep track of all blocks made and I expect 19 blocks per person, each in it's own baggie, to be returned to me. If you are making extras, do not use a baggie for it but add it to the existing baggie for the recipient. I do not count blocks, I count baggies. Extras will complicate the sort if suddenly I've got too many baggies per block maker.
Everyone is required to keep in touch weekly and by that I mean post weekly, hopefully to acknowledge blocks made for you and to read what may be important information like this post. If I don't hear from you. I will be contacting you by pm. email or text or as a last resort, by phone. If I'm having to track you down, there is a problem so please post weekly at a minimum. If you are going to be unavailable for a period of time, please let me know so I don't start worrying that something has happened to you.
Thanks for reading all of this.

Good to hear from you, Nelco! I hope you will show us your veteran quilt later on when you’ve brought your vision to reality. DH and I tried to grow tomatoes here but we just don’t have enough sunlight in the fenced area and the deer decimate most plants they can reach. I envy those with veggie gardens.
lovely blocks, Nelco
I turned on an AARP webinar and decided to choose and cut a block while the presenter chattered on about her topic. Well, I couldn't stop and had to finish the block. Bumps, unstitching and restitching, squaring up, and pressing .... well it is now past 5:00 and I am finished with the block. Off for a walk, supper and layering a baby quilt.
Done and done! One more for GramE.
FYI: The dark fabric around the outside is purple not black

Yes tomorrow is the Colonscopy. Unfortunately no popsicles and our darn jello's are all red which is a big no no. All is well I have learned to start a soft diet 4 days days ahead of time or my body revolts.
Hav not good, glad you walked away for a reset
Hav my blocks so soft and beautiful thank you .
Nelco funny the block you picked for Janet is the same one I had picked out. No problem haven’t cut it out yet. All your blocks are very pretty
WMUT your block for GramE is beautiful love the shades of purple you used.
My blocks are for HAV and Nelco

Terriamn, I got almost 24 inches done and I'll try a little more after I finish this if the light is still good enough. Love the pink you used on your own block. The autumn block for lstew is so pretty.
Question for those of you who attach binding by machine. Do you use compensating feet? I know Juki has several so I can get them for my machine and they're not expensive. If you don't, how do you keep your quilt and stitching straight? I find my line of sewing to be wobbly a bit. I'm much better than I used to be but I wouldn't want to use my machine with a wobbly line on this quilt.
Now I'm hearing the suspect may be a young man which would rule out son's former friend.
Have a good evening!

Here's some blocks for today. Each is a single, no bonus blocks .
Janice - One is from your blue and the other is your green with the dash of blue you included.
Sewbiz - The Rockwell fabric called out for special treatment. The block is actually straighter than it looks in the photo. You create such great blocks; I hope you like it.

One last block until next week. It’s for Terriamn. It and I did battle, turning units this way and that until I was swearing. DH was at the doorway about to come in when I heard him tell Ernie, “I’m not going in there!” Anyway, it’s sewn now but the directional units aren't all facing the same way. So be it. This block is ready to be done with me! lol. I picked up the pink in the cheeks for the star. I originally tried blues but they seemed to get lost in the print. Hope it will work for you.
I made one for SBG today while kicking myself for designing a cra,y block for Janice. I told myself I had to do the blocks as I pulled out the fabric. I cheated today and did the last baggie on my first batch while Janice pieces glared at me. I Will work on it again tonight.
But then you'll have a keepsake beauty! Maybe your speed will increase as you go along.
I'm knocked totally off-kilter after Charlie Kirk was assasinated today. He was a hero of mine. 31 years old and two babies and a beautiful wife. Just can't believe it! So incredibly sad. I was working on this "Salem" block for GramE when I heard the terrible news.

Yeah on the technology success, SBG. A really beautiful block! I think I have my own tech problem working at least sometimes. But I did a photo of a second block for GramE transferred from phone to laptop. I used scraps from GramE's first block to provide enough purple fabric to complete this one. Off to make another block this evening. Photo is a little dark and the light is not yellowish but snowy. Poor lighting I guess, but done!
Such lovelies everyone.

Such lovelies everyone.
Janice, I do all my quilt binding by machine. I just don’t have the patience for that much hand stitching. Hope you have some sharp needles and some good movies to binge.
Sewed late last night and got these two blocks done, one for SusieQ and one for Cheese. Hope you like them, ladies.

Well, Cheesehead - you made one too large and I made one too small. LOL. I hope yours is as easy to fix as mine was. My bonus block for you now has a white border around it. *smile*
Hav4boys - That bee fabric is cute. I was aiming for a honeycomb effect; some people might see a soccer ball. The BONUS block may look more like a honey frame. I included a small bit of the bee fabric from my stash to make the BONUS block 12.5 inches.
Take care, everyone.

No blocks made by me this week, my father n law fell on Monday and broke his hip. The doctors were not sure if they would do surgery because of his age, 87. Surgery was performed yesterday with great success. Now the hard part starts, physical therapy and hopefully getting him home. I hope to get back into my sewing room on Saturday afternoon. MY knitting group meets Saturday morning. I am working on a crossbody purse for a cruise I am going on in January. so excited
I am loving all the blocks posted so far, they are most stunning. Good Night for the evening.

I went hunting for a small plastic storage box for my finished boom blocks and I found an almost empty box. What was inside? The start of an HST quilt from about 3 or 4 years ago. I think it is fabric left over from a quilt I made from a dear aunt's clothing. So, you can guess what I did this afternoon while on my Zoom quilting group's meeting. Match, stitch, cut, press, square up and turn the HSTs into pinwheels. 10 pinwheels done and only 28 to go. The 5" squares are all cut just need some time at the machine.

Ltsew the cross body bag is perfect for cruises. I purchased one while on the Alaskan cruise and I use it when I walk to carry my phone so I can listen to music. So sorry about your FIL hope his PT goes well and he will be home quickly.
So excited just heard from my son that he and his gf plan on coming home for Christmas and my granddaughter and her little family. Sounds funny chatting Christmas now but trying to coordinate 7 families is dang near impossible. I know some of the family is not happy with a change we have to make this year but everyone knows how fragile I currently am and for a welcome change they have decided not to rock the boat!
