TG-- that loom room is gorgeous! Thank you for sharing! I am not surprised that you and your DH are ready for anything as you scoot around the country. I'm glad you're home and can start playing with fabric again if the mojo hits.

SusieQ your thread work is exemplary! Have you ever done any crazy quilting?

Parisa... I hope we get one soon! Thanks for the review, Terriamn!

WB SBG! I'm sorry you have had so many funerals to attend lately.

Stay safe everyone. Bubble suits at the ready? Mine is. New aches and pains emerge on me every day. UGH! I have not worked on anything quilty yet this year. Real life gets busy but the nice thing is being able to come in here and see what everyone else is up to. Thank you for the inspiration!

TG glad you made it home safely and hoping it’s not to spendy to fix your home on wheels.

The miniature is breathtaking when you stop and really look at all the details. Thanks for sharing

It actually rained yesterday and it was so refreshing. Today the humidity is off the charts, will have to tie my hair up in clips or I will be a frizz ball.

We are also preparing for the winter blast that is headed this way. Hubby is going to make sure our small generator is working and we have a power source to run the coffee maker. The house is brick and stays warm for along time and we have our winter traveling clothes. It’s really not wondering if the power grid will go down, it’s a 90% probability.

My shoulder feels so much better I am hoping to sew my lattice strips on the boom blocks today

Everyone stay warm and safe

WOW is all I can say about the tiny weaving studio. So talented!

The funeral was so nice... if you can say that about a funeral. Our former pastor lived an amazing 90 years, then the other night had a stroke and died. He was blessed not to have a lengthy recovery, he just went on! We really enjoyed visiting with his wife and the church, who treated us like family. But yes, we have been to too many funerals lately. I guess that's part of us getting older.

We are waiting to see how bad that arctic blast will be, here. I'm hoping not as bad as predicted. We are also getting our generator ready for use, if necessary. With all the dead trees we still have standing, I hope this weather doesn't topple them all over. It's probably going to be a mess for a while, afterwards. At least we have plenty of firewood! And a good, working fireplace. Hoping it's not too bad for all of you...

I am stuck in New Orleans because I can't guarantee I'll be back to classes if the roads are icy. My husband in MS can't come down to me because he has doctor appointments and needs to make sure he doesn't have to travel far over icy roads.

None of those dead trees are near your house, right SBG? My neighbor has a bunch of dead trees in their yard and won't talk to me about taking them down. They are posed to drop on the back side of our lot. My back lot garage will be toast if they come down. I just hope they don't reach the house if they do come down. Rebuilding a house in winter is not my idea of fun. Perhaps my stash of fabrics will cushion the blow :-)

Yikes Ibex the neighbors tree sounds frightening

Sewbiz glad you are home from the funeral and it was a nice event.

Just turned our generator on, we haven’t had the need to try it out yet. Good news it started right up.

My oldest dd who is the runner stepped off a curb wrong while walking not running and took a nasty tumble on her knee. She goes to a friends house who is retired MD and asked him if she should go get stitches. He said definitely. So she is sporting some bright new stitches and is going to have to be really careful if the heavy ice storm hits her area as forecasted. Ouch

Everyone stay safe and warm

Ibex - we did this with our town years ago https://legalclarity.org/what-to-do-...s-a-dead-tree/
It at least made us feel prepared in case something happened. It wasn't a tree but sidewalk and they did finally come fix
it
Full coverage insulated bubble suits before exiting house!

Glad to hear y'all are ready posting that you're ready for the nasty, dangerous weather. We in the upper mid-west are not going to get your ice, but we are hunkering down for -25 degrees tomorrow through Sunday. Be safe, Be warm. Check in when and if you can.

Thank you! I am going to follow up with neighbor (again), HOA and city and see what can be done. There are four dead trees on their lot that are losing bark and limbs. I have pictures. Time to move them up the chain of command to see if I have any rights to protect my property from those dead trees. The entire neighborhood has gone through the drought but most everyone has taken care of their trees, including the HOA right-of-way.

Good morning. We’re at 24 degrees and currently having snow and sleet. When we awoke an hour ago there was a dusting of snow but the trouble is starting now. We’re as prepared as we can be but I’m hoping this storm has been over-hyped. We shall see.

Hope everyone is warm and safe.

It is 23 here, so glad we covered everything we could. I am being optimistic that we will keep power on since it didn’t rain.

Sewbiz and Ibex the news has been all about Mississippi and how hard the state has been hit. Please let us know how you are doing
