Ya know its funny that you mention that, dear hubby asked me just the other day why I had to cut it up in a special pattern to sew it back together, why couldn't I just "put two pieces of fabric together with some stuffing in between and sew them together"
LOL I honestly didn't know how to answer except this "thats not what i want to do!" He just doesnt get it probably never will but thats ok, he drives a truck and only comes home 4 days a month, plenty of time for me to work!

From a newbie to a oldie: Did somebody say that we have to use a zip log bag inside the mailing envelope to protect the F8?

Moonrise, I have some of that fabric, and it's lovely. I'll enjoy working with it.
leakus: it's not a requirement to put the F8 in a zippy bag (or some wrap in plastic wrap) when you mail it, but it really does help to protect the contents from the mailing machinery. I also do that with the finished blocks, too, to be on the safe side. I did have an issue with a couple of envelopes in Boomerang 1.0, where they were returned to me due to machine damage to the package. The addresses were so destroyed they could not be delivered. Thankfully, my return addy was visible. The outer envelopes were a real mess, and even the zippy bag was seriously damaged (with holes in it ... really a mess), but the fabric was okay.
So, any time I send fabric through the mail, I make sure to seal it in a zippy. One can never be too careful ....

Woo! I'm so excited to start this! I've picked out one fabric already from my stash... a really beautiful batik. Still need to choose/buy another one so I'll have enough F8s.
It'll be fun getting all the MAIL!!!
