*crickets* no really.. I have crickets... should probably take the bell off the kitten so when she goes down to hunt them she doesn't scare them and will get them to shut up.. then maybe I won't feel so alone hehehe

Anastasia I feel for you! I sewed right through my pinky one time and it was not fun! The needle of the machine broke off inside of my finer so I had to go over to the ER to have them slice it open and take the metal out
I have also sliced through an entire stack of completed blocks for a swap once...that rotary cutter can be quite scary..the needle too!

Elisabrat I tried to get there, really I did, but thought I better get to sewing to get these envelopes out of here. So I resorted to a bagel and some strawberry jam and then I had to put some Nutella on top of that so I could get my chocolate fix. It was soooo good. Just came out of my little sewing cave and in tomorrow's mail I will be sending savannarandons, nancia, phannie1, tammoo, mosher92. Pics are in the album if you can't wait. Cut out and ready to sew are marcialee and daisy, not posted pic yet but will mail tomorrow. TADA TADA no envelopes left at my house, until I get the rest of them.
I only have ctmhjenn left to receive in rubies and 1000projects, areinn, and lv2sew2011 in diamonds.
Sorry I can't go on and on tonight, aren't you guys lucky.....have to get dinner and watch my Bronco's play football. Have a good night everyone.

Anastasia - I, like you are so waiting for everyone to get the blocks I made,. They all went out on Friday so guess I will have to wait longer than you. I don't have a blog or whatever so haven't posted what I sent.
Seems weird not having any fabric to play with - I was nervous about doing a small group - but this was sucha a labor of love and I loved loved playing with different fab and different patterns.
The quilt shop nearest me is closing the end of the month. this weekend they had 30% off everything - and $1.50 FQ!! I went nuts on FQ! I work at a Western Art Museum three days a week and wanted to make something for my coworkers but had not ONE western thing in my stash. SOO I now do - waahoo! Thinking about bags for them all. Everyone can use bags!! \
Take care all and a good nightynight to you!

Oh no, I enjoy applique also.

In fact I've done several this time around myself instead of just pieced ones.

ok all that jam and I sat and the tea got cold WHERE WERE YOU? block for Anastasia on its lovey way home. going to cut another in a a bit after a little evening nap.. my how time flies. we had a simple dinner and had toast with jam and it ws delicious patting my own back I know what the heck. you only live once or twice. might as well.

you guys sign up for a large group next time see howeasy it is? and jaba had over fifty to make likeme and she is done.. I think she has worker elves in her sewing shop doing all the work and she runs reign over them and well no slacker elves there. I have well about 29 more to go.. plucking at them but given the time frame it will be easy to get it done before thanksgiving hoping for end of Oct. and know I an do that if things stay good crossing fingers.

two groups please next time for this gal. way fun. travelinggramma I need a bag? western perfect! sounds like a fun job I love all things western. fabulous book COWBOY gear. I own giant pictures from that book.. drool stuff. anastasia I know I apparently could drool easy if not careful. fabric, cowboys, young italian singers.. drool factors. get me a bib.

Drool makes fabric bleed.. stop that well.. I worked on this project for my secret pal today.. and well.. it doesn't like me... my geese are all stretchy and puckery and I cut the outer pieces the wrong size by 1/4" and I just don't care so the rest are also going to get cut 1/4" smaller haha. I can make the outer shell tonight but can't make the lining until I wash it cause it's batik and I don't want it to bleed. Mom is coming to entertain me tomorrow so I might recruit her into being a worker elf, a cutting elf at least. or maybe I'll let her sew with my bumper and let her see how fun auto-pilot is when you don't have to make sure it's lined up with the edge of your presser foot.. maybe she'll use one then Anyways, in case anyone cares here's what I made tonight (this makes a 15.25x12" rectangle if you cut incorrectly like I do.. so .. you know.. if you cut it in a different way you could make it into a swap block.. Also the original pattern, the blue that's around the geese were supposed to be the same color as the dark border but bleh to that. have fun

if only I could be so lucky to make such a pretty block. I see tiny triangles and I... run. I am looking for the bumps. I have tried to iron those out with horrible luck I might add. Only way to solve that is to open up that seam press while open then resew. Dont try spray starch unless you want to make them ten times more bumpy .. no never tried that hear. or steam, yeah never tried that here. WHAT I DID DISCOVER is how to finally get rid of those stupid fold lines that are showing up all over in the fabric I get. I take a damp paper towel and lay it over the fabric and then put the hot iron on top til the paper is dry and woala its now an unwrinkled fabric. i was not getting out spray of any kind after those lumpy experiences. (sorry to those who got them). AND its a lesson not a mistake Anastasia. thats all. quilting itself takes a lot of that out or distracts the eye anyways so it doesnt show (as much).. especially if a non quilter looks at it. We just are super hard on ourselves right guys? say yes please

ok off to start sewing, its 6:14 and its MY GREAT DAY, company coming tonight (oh joy) and then my daughter and her boy are coming for four days from Eugene, OR and will want tons of attention so not sure how much sewing I can do while they are here.. oh go wine tasting honest its fun... oops sorry the door hit you, oh oh go zip lining and see those caverns its great! oh here is some money go get picnic stuff and hike and swim up at the lake.. anyone see a theme here? any other good ideas? go play? let momma play too ? I cant keep up with 21 yr old energy and have no desire to try either let the games begin!

Hehe it is a cute block and I have no desires to open it up and fix it. It'll do as is.. hehe.. once I put the batting in where I forgot to put it in, I'll quilt it down and no one will ever know The fabric is called Pegasus by NNA for Fabric Visions, Inc. I have a ton of it, I'll send you a yard or two. I decided it must have been one of those bags of fabric I found at Unique Thrift store for $3. But I honestly have a TON. But it is a stinkin cute pattern and a stinkin cute fabric.

Also, I'm coming to visit too Elisabrat... you can send me away to play too
