Calendar Sun Bonnet Sue - Sign-up Closes 28 Feb 2010
#312
I finially decided what to do for my Sept. and June SunBonnet Sues. They are lots of fun to work on while we listen to the books on tape. I was going to do a bride for June but DH talked me into doing a graduate. Kind of goes along with the Sue who is picking flowers on her way to school in the fall.

PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO READ THIS BEFORE YOU MAIL YOUR PACKAGES. I went to the PO today to mail packages from another swap that I am hosting. I ended up paying almost $27 in postage that was short on the 'pre-paid' envelopes. (So much for the PO weighing and pre-stamping the appropriate amount!)
If you are sending one month (12 blocks) or two months (24 blocks), for the return envelope, please use the FLAT RATE ENVELOPE and purchase the Flat Rate STAMP - COST IS $4.90. The blocks fit nicely and I will make sure they are in plastic. If you are doing 3 months (36 blocks) you are to use the white (tyvek) envelope, which will cost $5.90. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask. The little Sues' have more room to run around now that the R/W/B's are being mailed.

I've been feeling really overwhelmed at the idea of doing these and wondering why on earth I signed up for a swap when at that time I had never done a single applique. I've done a little since then, and this weekend I AM (repeat, AM) going to start on this project. I'm kind of excited ... it feels like when I used to make outfits for my paper dolls when I was a kid. I just hope my ideas translate to blocks other people like, since they'll be going to other people. They won't be as fancy as some of the ones I've already seen pics of on here, but I think they'll be ok :-)

What makes these swaps is seeing the different ways everyone sew the blocks and the newbies' blocks are just as loveable as the more experienced quilters.

Whew.....I am almost done with R/W/B swaps being mailed. Now on to the Sue's!!!! Since this swap is dependent on all the months being done (there are 60 of us, so 5 complete sets) it is really important that, if at all possible, you do not pull out from this swap. If you absolutely need to, please pm me, as I will have to do your block month. They are due July 1st, so we are getting down to the time frame. Now, if this is really horrendous, and I need to extend the deadline a bit, please let me know. I am so excited to see the calendars! And, again, please read the mailing info....any questions, just ask!
