I received my girls yesterday. They are sooooo cute. I love them. I have two sets so I think I may make one as a calendar and one as a quilt. Anyone have any good patterns or ideas on how to do the calendar?

Most everyone should have their blocks by now with the exception of the 12 who were waiting for the last blocks to come in. I hope everyone liked working on their girls, and though we did have many levels of skill, I think everyone did a nice job with their interpretation of their month. For some it was their first swap and were very hesitant to participate. This is what the swaps are all about, to gain confidence in our abilities and enjoy our progress. I have been reading all of the posted feedback and private pm's about the swap, which a host always needs, and based on those, after Hot Air Balloon, I will probably not host again. It is very time consuming to host, manage, coordinate, keep track of the postage issues and try to please everyone. HAB will be the third one I have done in 6 month, and I thought I did a pretty good job considering. These swaps are such a great way to connect with others and learn from those more experienced. Admin has taken on a considerable challenge to keep this site safe for us so we can continue to support each other in our creativity with fabric.

Thanx DEB!! I think you did a great job ;-) you can only do so much and everyone else has to do their part.
3 swaps in 6 months to coordinate is a lot

Deb,

I look forward to getting my blocks and I want to thank you for your time (I know it required alot of time) to host this swap. I too enjoy making new friends and you are absolutely right that you cannot control what others do and I am so sorry that you were left holding the bag in some not fulfilling their promises. I truly appreciate you and have enjoyed this swap specifically. My great grandmother made these quilts that were referred to as "Dutch Dolls" and so did my grandmother and now me. I am so anxious to take half of the blocks I receive to make a quilt for my daughter-in-law so the tradition continues in our family. Blessings to you!

The last of the little girls have all been gathered, packaged and sealed. These girls were alot of fun for me, I hope they are scampering around your house! Again, I want to thank you for being so patient waiting for your adoption papers to be complete. The last 11 sets coming will be short August - Remember that ORSunshine will mail your block to you when she gets them done. She had a medical emergency in her family that needed her attention. It is good that the little girls are gone, as the hot air balloons are now landing!
