Ok so I didn't get to try this last weekend like I hoped, but I did try my first applique. I don't think I did to bad. I would have liked it to be better. Anyway we are going camping in the morning, will be back on Saturday. I am bringing my sewing machine, kids will have to take a nap and I can make chickens. Will post a picture of my chickens (good or bad)when I get back. I really hope they turn out ok, I want to join so bad lol. Wish me luck.

Yes, I bet your blocks will be just great! I would love to join...but can't committ..have sooo much on my plate right now, so what do I do??? I play on the puter looking for pics of your chicken blocks instead of sewing. :roll:

I'm excited, it's turning out to be a swap with lots of participants, meaning lots of varieties of chickens. I'm really thinking that designating who is okay with a blue chicken is not important, seems like everyone would be fine with one!!

I finished my first 12, (I made 13 so I would have one of my own, I originally was told that I wouldnt be getting one of my own blocks back) and now am starting the next 12. I cant wait to see everyone else's blocks, I am going to make a throw sized quilt out of them. It should be fun, a converstation starter for sure! I did the first block pretty "traditional." I hope no one minds! The next one will be more fun...
