Just dropped in to see if my names had arrived. Not yet so back to housework. Completely cleaned and picked up over half the house today and now onto laundry and making more orns. Got three of those little time stealers done last while watching tv with DH. Wonder how many tonight. I guess that depends on how much of the fabric I get cut and ironed before kids go to bed and relaxing starts.

the roasted turkeu, first is tiny, about the size of a small Cornish game hen.
second, I gotta have someone take a photo for me, that won't be till next week.
next, someone here might get it b4 I get a photo of him.
what I did, drew a weird 1/2 circle, sewed the top hump of it, then cut an oval to be the bottom gusset. then cut a bone, looked like a dog bone 1/2 and drew a thingy that looked like a turkey leg. stuffed that turkey really full, when you think it's full, keep stuffing. stuffed the leg well. then drew a wing, in a v shape stuffed that and attached it all. now tomorrow off to savers to get a platter to serve him on.
if you're lucky and join the swap, you might get him. took a bit of time to make him, a real turkey could probably make one quicker.

did anyone feel sorry for me for having to stand in line so long at the dmv. a full 1/2 hr just to be told got stand in line over there. that's the government for ya. they had hard wooden benches to sit on, just like in church and I sat there for 2 1/2 hrs more, coz I was standing in the line too long, so I sat down, they had a bazillion other people to help b4 me. then they wanted a picture. thank goodness I blow dryed my hair so I looked good. they made me read that damn eye chart only superman could see. I outsmarted them,,,they told me to take three steps back, I didn't, just shuffled my feet. started to read the sign and they just took my photo, so I complained I could only see yellow spots, the lady didn't want to keep me any longer so she let me go. score!!!! it was either 180 for my cdl or 80 for regular, so I opted out for the cheap way, no way was I gonna stand on that line come my birthday next year, that day is saved for icecream and sewing.

Our dmv is in our mall and the KITCHEN STORE is right across the hall. when I went in sept I had 24 people in front of me. I grabbed my number and went shopping. you can even see the numbers changing from there! I will attempt to do the turkey. I can't think of a food, pastry, veg or frozen treat that I haven't sewn already for the boys. I am making them the bags of flour, rice, sugar next. I saw granny_59 had even done "bolts" of fabric so I may have to do that too. She did such a great job. I will mail my ornies out soon. I was worried because my dogs thought the birds were chew toys. so, I put them up on the kitchen table and went to read. yawn, fell asleep and when I looked for them in the morn I couldn't find them. on my way downstairs to let the dogs out back-I found 1 bird not damaged, and a large fluffy pile of wool not far from that. so, the #@$#%&* cats had a field day! so, making a felted something else and a new bird. my sister took the bird we found. said she didn't mind a lil kitty spit! not funny! so, Grim the black cat is suspect as well as his calico colored sister, Prissy. so, when the new and clean ornies are done this week I will mail out! now I'm gonna go watch NCIS LA

still decicing on what to do for my pc swap. join us there. we need swappers, and i know we have a few international and from canada. start making now so you have it ready. (i'm actually looking at next years swap ornaments.) lynnie, I just went to the swap section and only see the October PC swap but it is closed. Am I missing something? I would like to find out more. I did exchange one Pincushion in a swap a few months ago. I guess I might be able to do another. I was just worried about being late. I know I can finish an ornament as I started several last year and did not quite get to finish them.
