Christmas Ornament Swap 2014
#331
Wow mdall, those are really neat. Looks like pretty advanced sewing skills to me!
I finally figured out what to do for my ornaments. I'm trying to tailor them to what my giftees said they like. I did some blanket stitching this afternoon -- something I hadn't done in years. I'm having fun refreshing old skills and trying some new things. I sure hope they bring their recipients as much joy as making them is giving me!

CookyIN, thanks but believe it or not. They are mostly no sew. I adjusted a few things to allow for adding some of the embellishments. Been doing these for a couple of years now and I always love them. The look good in just about any color or print too.

Thanks so much, those are actually the round ball done the same way as the pinecones. I loved loved the pinecones I made last year. Unfortunately I did not have any more of the egg shaped foam to do more this year. I do something with the prairie points every year. they are so versatile for crafting a little time consuming but look great for lots of stuff. Did you know I even found a pattern for Christmas Trees using the prairie points just did not have the forms for that either.

Time for another game. We are going to put a twist on the Alphabet Game played earlier. This time you must name a Christmas Song, only a Song. Again songs starting with The are accepted as long as the second word has the letter you are naming for.
Ill start, A is for Away In a Manger.

Xmas 1965--my senior year of high school. my oldest brother and his new wife gave me a nice pair of black slacks with a white long sleeved blouse trimmed with a black ribbon woven through the lace down the front. they were the only slacks my Mother ever let me wear to school as an actual outfit. otherwise i had to wear dresses or skirts--slacks could be worn under the dress or skirt and removed once i arrived at school. i tried to wear that blouse and slacks outfit as often as possible.
the next year I went to a Catholic girl's college and slacks could not be worn to class and only off campus if suitable for event you were going to such as a football game etc. nowadays you would be lucky to ever see me in a dress.
