I will get my mini in the mail Monday. I've had my DD and her DH here all week and I was going to stop at the Post Office today on the way to take her to the airport. But she got a notice that her flight from Las Vegas to Denver was cancelled so we had to take her into Los Angeles to get a direct flight. They left here where it is 75 and got to Denver where it was 16 and snowing. Good thing I gave her a really heavy jacket for her birthday.

Hi all! Been sucked into the sewing room this past weekend, working on a project that has been pending for well over two years. Before my dad passed, I had asked mom for his tie collection with the intention of making a quilt with his ties. Most of them were from the 40's and 50's, you know, the wide ones made from silk and had beautiful designs. Well, mom had sent them to me prior to his passing in 2013, and I couldn't bring myself to make anything. Mom wanted me to make something for us 4 kids as a remembrance, and it took me until this past week to come up with a fitting tribute. They aren't done yet, but this is where I'm at now -- a Dresden plate block (18"), that will go onto a 20" pillow.
