So I have a question are we supposed to wash it in between mailings?

My preference would be to not have my row and added rows by others washed multiple times. Too hard to get the seams flat, and since I hand quilt it is important to me. Unless something gets spilled on the rows for me or something like that I would prefer that they are not washed other than prewashing the fabric before making a row.

I don't think there is a right or wrong answer to wahing the rows, each persons individual preference.

the idea was not to attach any rows so the owner could put together in the way that she likes...so the only time the row gets washed is when you create it for the row robin (at least the fabrics you plan to use, not necessarily the actual row).
Regarding the medallion one, wash the fabrics you plan to use before you attach it and then the actually quilt will not be washed again until the owner choses...

does that make sense? or is it as clear as mud?:D

Makes sense. Pre-wash your materials before making a row or adding to a medallion. No washing after assembly.
