You're welcome, Mish. I love your fabrics. Your log cabin balloon turned out really cute. I've tried several things for the ropes. I used some small cording, and that's cute, but was a pain in the you-know-what trying to get it in the right place so it could be sewn into the seams between the balloon and the basket. So I've ended up just using a satin stitch for the ropes.

I got a FQ of woven basket print fabric at Thousands of Bolts. Wouldn't be worth the shipping just to order 1 FQ, but if there are other things you want/need to order at the same time...

Yeah, I'm just using a stitch on my machine that is actually a stretch stitch, three lines of stitching together, to make my ropes. I thought about the cording, too, but it seemed like it would be a lot of trouble, so I didn't even try.

    Hi everybody,
I used the stitch on my machine Butterflybule described it, 3 lines of stiching together.
By the way.... my balloons are flying to Deb's house!!!!
I enjoyed this project very much for a first project of this kind so far I am pleased.
Cannot wait to see the rest of the balloons, let alone to wait for them in the mail!! Hurry up ladies!!!
    love

C.Cal Quilt girl, Missgigglewings, AnnaK, and BrendaB's have floated in the skies and landed here this past week. I am going to ask that you (if you are able to) post a pic of them as my camera is acting up again. Yep, deadline for signing up is Aug 20, and your blocks MUST be here by Sept 3 unless you have pm'd me and we have chatted. The blocks are soooooooo cute, this is going to be another great swap. I have the last of the SunBonnet Sues' all packaged up and ready for adoption, they will be going out Monday. Now to get the tethers for the ballons ready
