oldcatlady said it beautifully..........I think certain prints or styles are more popular in certain areas and the manufacturer's take that into account so even if it's the same company the fabrics would/might be different. That's what I was thinking when I first saw the swap. When I went to a quilt shop in the west there were TONS of southwest fabric that I don't see in my area. I bet the same is true for the new england area when it comes to the ocean/beach prints. I could not find any here. So I think just sending in material you find locally is great and if it has to do with whatever is popular in your neck of the woods that's even better. Just have FUN!

Does that help???

Blessings!

I had a few questions as well.
Like, if say 50 of us over here in the US sent you say just 2 FQ each, that would be 100 FQ...but what if you only got 12 overseas players and they each only sent in 1 FQ...
How are you going to make it even from BOTH sides?
There is no way we can make it even from both sides. There is simply no way. Since we are doing it with fabrics from our own areas.... that is the best we can do. We can only work with what comes in.

Like oldcatlady said..... "I think certain prints or styles are more popular in certain areas and the manufacturer's take that into account so even if it's the same company the fabrics would/might be different. I have never been to all of the states in America so I would LOVE to have fabrics from all of them. It would still be a National quilt. And if there is only 1 fabric from overseas.... then it would be an international quilt. Either way, I can't wait to get mine!!!!

Blessings!

I'm going to include lots of fabric that has pine trees, forest animals, pine cones, etc. Maybe even some Native American stuff. Pacific Northwest is famous for our forests! :)
