i agree with ninnie the tree is more user friendly but there are a lot of HST and points to deal with.

i love that compass star, it might take you a little longer to put together because you have to learn foundation piecing but it would make a stellar quilt in the end.

I have not started, but have two different centers in mind. I may do two, or I may just do one, depending upon needs of the RR, and how these centers come out. I'm working on one, and am waiting to get a paper piecing tutorial so I can decide about the other. I'm a nervous wreck...I've been trying to teach myself paper piecing but really need it demonstrated. I can't visualize what the books are doing...Yikes...

Don't worry, you'll be fine.
They are just over achievers. lol
Don't start fretting now, wait until you get your first center, then the stress will set it. :)
But in all honesty, you will do fine, I PROMISE!! If you feel that you aren't, you are welcome to come to my house and pilfer thru my stash. :) :)

One of the blocks I was thinking of doing is now no longer an option. The more I looked at it, the more I realized is wasn't meant to be part of a bigger piece - it was a 12 inch wall hanging, and would have looked silly with borders added in the sizes that we are doing.

That said, I have a large swirly fabric I want to highlight. It's similar to large paisleys but not quite as busy. Any ideas for centers that showcase a large print?
