i've been on pintrest. i've seen the stars done in 3-6 layers, and in square, circle, and octagon.
do we pick what we want, or is there a format we must use?

This looks fun! But before signing up, I want to first try a test one. Not sure my machine will like all those layers.

You can do it! I had never done them before either. I have now made 3, my test one 5 layers and 2 more 6 layers. I'm having too much fun
There is no stipulation on shape and layers etc. the only rule is it must be at least potholder size, or if you go smaller, you must make 2. It does not need to be made as a potholder. It can be a table or wall decoration. And it should be something you would like to receive. (I don't really need to say that, you guys always blow me away!)

Time is running out to sign up. That's why you need to sign up then make a sample if you want. It's just squares folded and layed out like in the video. I sewed around each layer then sewed between the folds to hold it all. I didn't have any trouble sewing it. Want to see mine?? Not going to show ya....it's a surprise remember. lol.

Looks waayy harder than it is. I have made a number with this pattern, and they are fun!

So I made my first ( practice) star today. Still need to bind it but like it and the process opens all kinds of creative doors.
