I am participating in the fabric moratorium and have used my birthday exception in July for strawberry fabric to make a strawberry quilt for myself. I am sure I would have had a lot of fun buying new floral fabric. Hope you all get a nice variety.

What a pretty quilt, Barbara! Welcome to the Floral charms swap -glad to have you with us!!

Red, I shipped my 12 sets of floral charms out to you today.

Favorite flowers, anyone?

You all must know that I love pink peonies!!! I have fond memories of my grandmother's gardens which were extensive and so beautiful and had many peonies. Then my first house came with a garden with lots of pink peonies. And the house I live in now, which we bought 10 years ago, also came with several varieties of peonies - white, pale pink, medium pink, dark pink-nearly red! Oh so fragrant!

It would be difficult to choose just one flower but I'd have to say mine is the big, bright sunflower …. or any variety of sunflower. I feed sunflower seeds to the birds in the winter and they, in turn, plant seeds all over my backyard for me and the bees to enjoy in the early summer. Then more birds (the little yellow finches and cardinals especially) pluck the maturing seeds, or what the wormy insects don't get. If I could plant my whole yard in sunflowers, I would but my dog Buddy claims so much of it for his jaunts in chasing the squirrels and the birds. I'm thinking a sunflower quilt might be in my future.

There are others also …. marigolds, zinnias, cone flower, morning glory, petunias, honeysuckle, trumpet vine, geraniums. Oh so many that I look forward to reading about your favorites too.

Lilies. I absolutely adore the fragrance of lilies. I also enjoy tulips and iris.

Hav4, your package arrived here safely

Well, my husband is pleased. Or relieved. Or both. I was looking for a small part-time job after my "real job", and my local quilting store was looking (my husband was hearing banjos here). Anyway, I had my interview and they said they wanted to hire me, but my schedule was too restrictive (I was looking for two nights a week and every third Saturday). They are only open late at night 2 days a week, so that was covered, but they wanted more weekends. Bummer for me, but my husband was SO excited to not have the fox guarding the hen house LOL

red- that is so funny! I think my husband would feel the same way.

My package will be going out today.

I'm not sure if I have a favorite flower, I love so many of them. I use to have extensive flower gardens, but with moving to a location where it's hard to grow things, I only have a few day lilies and a couple of planters of annuals.
