I got a beautiful DQ from Karen -Tesspug-. I am a Sue but I have never made or received a Sunbonnet Sue anything. Not anymore! Karen made the cutest quilt and named it YoYoSue. She also made a heart scissor fob and a toy for Sassy. In the pictures below you can't see the toy because as soon as I put it down to take a picture Sassy jumped right on the quilt and batted the toy away. Maybe she will become my quilt kitty!

Thank you all so much for your kindness. She actually isn't a friend, just a lovely young woman who took a liking to me. (Don't know why since I'm such a crank.) I'm also making a quilt from her grandmother's old house dresses. Yeah, I know. I have nothing else to do. 
Anyway, there is no rush at all. The squares are quilt as you go. That means you are quilting a sandwich. The top block and batting (any kind) should be 12" and the backing should be 14". Colors are Red White and Blue ... and the same with the backing. Please be sure to sign the front and note the state you are from. Thank you all!

Nancy what a beautiful quilt! I am so touched by your kindness. I almost have your quilt done and i will be sending it out to you in the next week or so . You are a very special Lady and someone i am proud to call Friend. My sil is out of icu and up walking some. They say she will go to rehab to build her strength back in 3 weeks.

Thanks everyone for your prayers. The surgery went good. She now has a new Liver and Kidney. She is in ICU but the doctor says he is very happy with her progress. She still has a long road but i know she will be fine.

You certainly have a full plate this month. Please know you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. Please don't forget to take care of yourself while taking care of your SIL. And don't worry about swapping with me this month -- you don't need any more stress in your life at this point. I did finish your quilt and put it in the mail, but I don't want you to feel the need to reciprocate. I'd rather you use the time to rest and spend with your SIL. She's very lucky to have you there for her. There are other months and other swaps, and I'm sure we will cross paths again.
