Hi GramE,
This is the photo I promised to post for you.
As your looking at that card, Your address would be on the right. And, I put mine in the top left corner. I change my backs sometimes. They are not always the same. But, key basic components always stay the same.
You will see if you stay in the swap long enough swapping postcards. Everybody does their own things on the backs. Some people use a rubber stamp. Some people do embroidery. And, some do lovely hand drawn artwork etc.

GramE, If you ask anyone I've swapped with, I always include some type of note on the back of my postcards. I use a black/brown/blue Scrapbook Pigma Pen(whatever I can find at the time) to write my notes. I heat set the ink with my iron. (If the back of your card is paper or cardstock, feel free to use whatever your want. No need to heat set.) The back of my postcards are muslin. There is NO wrong way. Whatever is convenient for you.
