Linny, Apparently this steam boat was originally used as a transport boat for sheep but has been modified as a carrier for tourists up the lake. The inland lakes in NZ are fed by glacier water and the blue colour of the water is beautiful. The water in the lakes is also very cold and they were saying that if you fell in you would only survive for half an hour.

Betty, I guess that bit of information shows how important the sheep were to that area.....so interesting. Guess you didn't go swimming on your trip. Ha ha. The water is beautiful though, and it does look inviting. Thanks again for posting pictures.

Checking in again to see everyone's beautiful cards, and news, and travel photos, wow. You all have set a very high bar, you know! I'm going to sign up for April.
I've been sidetracked making a potholder (quilting it, hand-piecing too) featuring a portrait of my daughter's youngest dog, for her as a surprise. It's been good practice...the likeness is turning out well. I thought I would paper-piece it but ha! there must be something I'm not picking up from the youtube videos...my thread looped up underneath the paper & the paper itself started tearing on the stitch perforations...my machine began to rattle. This was after I changed the stitch, needle, and tension settings to what I thought it should be. Well, I'll figure it out after I finish piecing the little "pup portrait potholder."

Arrowtown is charming and quirky – a delightful gold rush village nestled below the beautiful peaks that surround the sparkling Arrow River. You’ll be enchanted by Historic Arrowtown, a New Zealand treasure.

This was a very interesting village we visited during our trip to New Zealand. I especially took the picture below, as I have a friend who used to live in New Orleans prior to hurricane, Katrina, that did so much damage.

March pc
I received my pc from Owlvamp probably 2 weeks ago. Black and white hexies with one pop of red. Hexies are becoming one of my favorites. I sent my card to Owlvamp on Monday ... she should get it soon.

I agree with Lynnie, Betty I enjoy your pictures and stories. Actually I'm interested in all the board members areas. For example I've never been to NYCity so I only see about it is what I see on the news........calla
I emailed Armylady my March partner, asking if she could post a pic of the items I mailed to her..........today being Easter I'm sure she is busy with family........Sue
