hsquiltingmom, Love your block. The bird is fantastic. I used to poo poo embroidery machines (when I was young and stupid) because I do hand embroidery. But now I realize they both have their place and I'm appreciating machine embroidery a lot.

I guess it's like the purists who think only hand quilting makes it a quilt. We just have to explore and open ourselves to new ideas!

Did you know my sister (the one who does not speak to me) is a Hollywood screenwriter? Stockard Channing plays me in a movie. Another story...

See if you can rent "Married To It" , a really good movie.
Also recommend "M y Girl 2". My sister's name is Janet Kovalcik!
She also did several tv movies & a tv series!!

Amen. As we grow older, we are forced to accept that if we want to get a tenth of the things swirling around in our heads done,we will have to "go modern".

Dotty, your blocks are really fantastic. By choosing different materials, you can make the same block look entirely different. PokerDiva, the different shades and patterns of reds with black or white are just perfect the way you have placed them in the "Oh Susannah" block. What an eye for color! Jessica, your embroidery of the peacock is just impeccable! You have done an excellent job. What type of machine do you have?
