Thank you ninnie, for saying that. The oct exchange is my first, and I am glad that you all welcome quilters at all levels. This is such a nice quiting group. I'm proud and happy to be in it. Thanks for saying that just the quilt is enough. That helps us beginners a lot. The ones of you that have known each other know what others like as to colors, items, etc. We newbees don't really know anyone's tastes and are more hesitant as to know what else to send.

If you go to the top of this page, you will see the title, and then two lines of words that you can click on to find out all sorts of things.
I clicked on search and typed in my Omak name ... I do believe every comment I have ever typed has appeared ... so, if I don't know someone, obviously, <g> I am going to do some research using that handy dandy search button the Administrator so thoughtfully provided ...
I may have never typed to you during your time here, but I'll bet I won't have to read very many pages before I have enough clues to make you think I have known you for most of my life!

Where there is a will, there is a way 8)

I actually had a picture of a Green Circle and HO! HO! HO! with a big red slash through it in my office. When I was promoted, I was told that I needed to "ease up" on the Christmas Spirit.

Thanks omak, I'm learning more about this boad all the time. I've never been on a chat line before, and am learning somewhat by trial and error how to get around here. Are there any written instructions telling about everything I need to know to navigate? I do know everyone seems nice and mostly positive. I've not read many if any bad remarks about anything here.

I am sure I don't know all there is to know, but I have gone into live chat many times and asked my next question and there was almost always someone in there who could tell me how to do what I wanted to get done, whether it was navigating this site or working on a quilt - - or even pet tips! ... If you go up to the top of this thread, where it says
"Quilting Forum -> Member Swaps and Round/Row Robins"
Put your mouse on the words Quilting Forum, click, and it will take you to the main board - - like a site map. For example, click on Pictures. You will be taken to a page with threads to look at ... the very FIRST post is from the Administrator telling you how to participate in that category.
If all else fails, PM me by clicking on my name and type in what you are seeking to know, and we can have an adventure together, if I don't already know how to do what it is you are trying to accomplish.

Thanks Omak, I have gone to that main page, but I don't think I knew how I got there. Mostly I post notes on what is already topics. I did post one new topic ionce, on a web site I liked. I don't know if anyone read it but one other friend that I e-mailed about it. I'm learning fast, and getting faster at typing, but hit the wrong key too much. Why do I hit Ll instead of S and get = instead of backspace??? Just not keeping my fingers right, I guess.
I am so excited about these doll quilt exchanges. I took 2 classes on doll quilts at Quilter's Hall of Fame in July, and am really interested in them. Maybe it's because I never out grew my love of dolls. I now have 3 GDs, so I can make dolls, doll clothes, etc as they get older. I've got time, as Lauren is 3, and the twins are 9 mo.

I hear you Janis ... sometimes, I do more good things by accident than if I actually taken time to plan it <g>
I am still into dolls, also, though I have no place to set them up, so they are living in boxes and suitcases ... maybe someday, or else, some other little girl is going to have a really good time with her new babies!
I think you will be well-satisfied with the DQ swap ... and, getting to know all these nice people involved is an added benefit.

I'm doing the doll swap for the first time, and am so glad that everyone is so welcoming to beginner quilters. I am doing the best I can, but I would hate if anyone was disappointed if it wasn't "professional" quality. All of your words of encouragement has really helped me take a chance on this current doll quilt- I am experimenting and having a blast!

New to swaps, as well -- but this sounds like a great place to start. Having two granddaughters, I need to get busy with doll blankets -- and this will be a great beginning. Thanx for organizing this, will pm you now.
