Could be easier and faster to cut! I might be interested!

I've never been able to cut a WOF (on the fold like it comes from the store, right?) without getting a V in the strip when it's unfolded. Can't ever seem to get it perfectly straight. I'll probably need to pass on this one until I perfect my technique. Otherwise, I'd love to participate. Great idea!

Ugh, Never thought of that.. Mine are not perfect.. I don't think mine will ever be perfect but what if we 'try' not to make the V but add in the clause that you may inherit 'V' strips ?? Think that will work.. ?!?!?! I mean I totally understand the humongous gaping V would be unacceptable but if we were off by a midge, less than perfect might work..

Suggestions anyone?

add 1/2 an inch to compensate!

sew scrappy 02-07-2011 11:43 AM

A 1/2 inch would correct my cuts, I'm pretty sure. I'm usually about 1/8 inch off from one end of the strip to the other end. Really aggravating that I can't seem to get it right.

me too..its easier said than done in my book.. Eh for scrappy strips that i will cut down anyhow 5 inch works but I see the dilemma

Well I asked the mods for permission to host a 5 in strip swap so we shall see.. if approved wont post till next month..

I have a 5x26 ruler but is there a 5.5 x26 ruler?? That's how Id cut mine..

luvTooQuilt 02-07-2011 12:53 PM

here's an idea for the 10.5 squares we swap.. http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-97232-1.htm

I also have a 5x26 ruler. That would really be quick. And I also would cut mine down to smaller pieces so the "v" wouldn't matter that much. Who knows, with practice, that V might go away. Ya think we might improve?
