It is time again to swap postage stamps. Sign up deadline is November 15, mailing deadline is November 19.
There is a thread on the group activities that gives you all the details. We swap sets. A swap consists of 50 squares from 50 different fabrics. You can swap up to 15 sets. If there is a lot of interest we can talk about increasing the set limit. Please put each set in its own little baggie and labeled with your board name. So if you are ready to cut, cut, and cut send me a PM and let me know how many sets you would like to swap. |
Just sent you a PM.
Wow...can't believe that I almost missed this. Sending a PM now :D
Oh, I have been waiting for this one. Will pm you.
Oh Missi are you up for another one of these? You have the patience of a saint to have all those mini pieces (thankfully enclosed in ziplocs) around you!! Thanks, G.
Is the 1.5" finished size or cut size?

50 different fabrics?? Wow....
Sign me up! :)
Been working on my squares tonight--I'm putting an extra 3 or 4 in each group of 50. Hope this helps with any miscounts, duplicates or miscuts (Heavens how could that happen!)
I'm thinking about it, but am not sure I have the patience! I'll let you know soon. I DO love those postage stamp quilts! :)

To those of us who are new to this concept of round robins, can you explain what is going on in case some of us are interested but unsure of what is required when we sign up for one of these.
I participated in the last 1.5" swap...I had so much fun going through all of the baggies that I received....this is a great way to increase your stash and to add variety...the only problem that I have had is that I have found several pieces of fabric that I love so much that I would like to find more of the fabric in yardage....oh well. I will be participating in this swap also...I have started sewing the previous group into "twosies" using Bonnie Hunter's leaders and enders technique....
Thank you Missi for making this possible and for all of your hard work on our account....you are greatly appreciated by this quilter.... |
Ok here is the link on the Group Activities page

So is it an issue if none of my scraps have been prewashed?

Perfect! I've been working on my postage stamp quilt, using the squares as leaders and enders for my other projects. I need more squares!

Although I am a prewasher, I don't think it's going to matter with these small pieces. Personally I would be leery of any red pieces as red tends to run. It's not a big deal to slip little red pieces (or any you question) into a bowl of hot water, air dry and press. Adapt and adjust I say!!
I'm in for another one! PM is in your box Missi. Thanks for taking on another one!
Thinking about it not sure yet.
I might have missed it somewhere, but is this strictly just cottons?
These would be great with a blender to make up a really neat border on a scrappy quilt.

Hello,
I would like to sign up for the swap. I would like to trade for 10 different sets. I want to collect to make a postage stamp quilt. This would greatly increase my collection. Thank You for doing this. [email protected] |
Ok, sign me up for 11 sets. I'm making them right now and will mail them this weekend.
This has only been posted a couple of days and we have 19 swappers!!!!!
I updated my post on the 1st page that had the wrong link to the June swap post. Here it is again so you don't have to go back to page one. http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-42104-1.htm and I posted on it that we were swapping again so it got bumped. |

Count me in again! I loved the little squishie I received last time. I have used some with some of myown to make baby eye spy quilts for my grand twins favorite stuffed critters. They will be for Christmas to go with the big Eye Spy Quilts for the kids. Can't wait to see their little faces on Christmas morning! Here are the pics of the one I have finished and the WIP.
Blessings. |
forgive the second post.
I'm in again! Great way to get rid of some of my scraps! I'll put it on my calendar so I don't forget!
Ok I am in too :) 10 sets for me I think
Very cute quilt!
springtime--those are just precious! What are they--about 14 x 18 when finished? Just the other day my little 18 month old GD picked up a scrap of batting about that size and played with it for several minutes (hours in her world!) Flannels would work great too. Guess what she's getting in her stocking this year. Thanks for sharing.

Please, if at all possible, don't include polyester fabrics! After I sew these together, I really steam them to make them stay flat. Lately, I've had some polyesters melt in my blocks! If you have a larger piece of the fabric, you can smell poly when you iron it, or put a match to the edge of the fabric, and blow it out right away. If it is cotton, the fabric will kind of flake off. If it is poly, it has a little crispy edge. I guess its one of my pet peeves, I guess. I don't like having to rip them out. Judy

I want to join!!! I love to work with little pieces of fabric, I love to hand sew I would rather see things together by hand as to using my machine but with these swaps I wouldn't be able to keep up! LOL Look forward to swaping with everyone !
