I received this beautiful Snowball Log Cabin quilt from jaba - sorry for the late photo posting;
three girlfriends and I did a two day shop hop - 950 miles; 28 shops scheduled and made it to 26 on Thursday and Friday; I needed a day to decompress from all that 'stop shop go'; we found a few amazing new shops to visit from time to time. Any who - back to the reason for my post; Jan did an awesome job choosing red and white fabric for me - this one is extra special because it is my first official classic red and white and the pattern is timeless. Thank you again jaba for being such an amazing swap partner and quilty friend.

oldcatlady 08-10-2014 08:17 AM

Beautiful quilt! I love red and white quilts.

Annaquilts 08-10-2014 12:15 PM

Another beautiful quilt! I love all the quilts that are posted and can't wait to see what my partner has made for us.

Elisabrat 08-11-2014 06:56 AM

Kristine that is an awesome quilt jaba made for you! wowsa!!! you sure are lucky.

Gannyrosie 08-11-2014 07:06 AM

Awesome quilt Jaba (jan). Love the simplicity of it and the design. Yes something about red/white is so timeless.

Things finally came together for me to get my pictures. I needed batteries for the camera and help to hold the quilt and shoot the pictures too. This quilt is huge! It covers our double bed with some hanging over. It's also beautiful. I love the colors(black, white, grey)fabrics and pattern. They all work together beautifully. I really can't say enough nice things about it. I also love the custom tag on the back. TheMamaHauser did a first class job all the way and I am honored to receive such a nice quilt. I'm learning a lot about quilting just by being able to look at her work. Anyway, here's the pictures.

Thank You TheMamaHauser very much for a wonderful gift and a big Thank You to Yosemitesa as well for hosting the swap and allowing me to participate.
Rodney

Gannyrosie 08-11-2014 05:57 PM

Rodney, yes it is an wonderful gift. The MamaHauser did a beautiful job. Did she do the quilting herself. The lines are so straight.

oldcatlady 08-16-2014 01:49 PM

Rodney that is a beautiful quilt :)

I haven't heard from my partner in a long time so I'm not sure if she is still playing. I've been done so I can send at anytime. Waiting to see if she wants it washed or not.

jaba 08-16-2014 06:34 PM

oldcatlady sent you a PM, in case your partner dropped out. Let me know, I'd love to swap with you if you are willing. I love a surprise and hopefully I can make you one that will please you.

Annaquilts 08-16-2014 07:44 PM

There are some more of us lagging. My partner got Lime Disease so we are on the slow track which worked out OK because my oldest DD had triplets. I am just a little worried as I have not heard from her for a little while. Partner if you read this please drop me a line to let me know how you are.

Yosamitesa 08-17-2014 05:42 AM

Oldcatlady and annaquilts I've been messaging your partners as well. I'll try phone calls this week. Will keep y'all updated.

Gannyrosie 08-18-2014 04:04 AM

Received my quilt Wed of past week from my partner Mamawalsh. She did a beautiful job and the colors she choose was just perfect. I'll try to get a pic this week.

Yosamitesa 08-19-2014 12:44 PM

I need everyone to send me a message if you have received your quilt or if you have not. If you already told me you received please disregard.

jeanne49 08-19-2014 01:04 PM

These quilts are all so really nice. I'd love to get in on this swap next year. I will definitely keep an eye out for the posting on the next one. Great job to all the ladies!!!

Annaquilts 08-25-2014 12:43 PM

I just got the nicest pm from my partner. She was out of town helping a friend and there was no computer. We are back on track and will just finish a little later. Keep checking as she sure made something beautiful and we'll be posting pictures.

Yosamitesa 09-05-2014 06:14 AM

Great to hear. I have a few people I haven't heard from. I think I have 2 people whose partners have disappeared. I will keep y'all posted...may need some angels...

oldcatlady 09-05-2014 06:56 AM

I'll hang on to the quilt as long as you think I should and then I'm going to give it to my niece if my partner is still MIA. After all, I originally bought the fabric with her in mind. I was going to put some pics in an album but haven't yet since I wanted my partner to be the 1st one to see it.

Elisabrat 09-05-2014 08:47 AM

I mailed mine to Tam moo and she has said she would finish hers to me. No word however when that my be she must be awfully busy. it is what it is :)

I love the quilt that was finished by Kelly (themamahauser) huge and beautiful. I know that will be well loved. there is a patriotic quilt posted here that came out gorgeous and also Jaba's great quilt she did for Kristine. wow what lovely work everyone has done. I use the quilt from twinriversfarm last years trade nightly! It is on my couch and I pull it up over me and wham it fits the job! double duty! gorgeous to look at and lovely to use. what more could anyone ask for? hope to hear from you soon Tam Moo and that everything is fine at home.

TwinRiverFarm 09-05-2014 12:39 PM

Awww, Brat, you are so sweet. Your quilt is on the bed in my sewing room (hey- naps are not just for kids, you know) and I think of you every time I see it. How are you feeling? I feel the urge for another round robin soon, and I need to post a picture of the last one. It is on the wall in my guest room and finished up very nicely. Don't fear OldCatLady (boy I love that name!~), we will not leave you quiltless. That is not the QB way at all.

[TD]Partner and I swapped and received our quilts. Both had some delays, but the outcome was worth it. I just love my quilt. The colors are great. Such teeny tiny piecing. I think this will be my new favorite quilt. I hope my partner likes hers half as much. The picture is not great, Melinda if you have better, please post.

Will try to get different pic tomorrow.

Gannyrosie 09-08-2014 06:18 AM

emc1118, Melinda did a beautiful job, it is gorgeous. Hope all is better for her. TwinriverFarm is right , no one left out. I don't have one to give, but I have fabric and time. So if all else, we could all make a block, someone put together and then she could have a gift from all.

Elisabrat 09-08-2014 06:30 AM

Oh man that quilt is stunning! lots and lots of love put into that for sure. You are one lucky lady to receive such a beautiful quilt!

I have not received my quilt however that said it was made with love the quilt I made and perhaps Kelly took a workin progress photo because like an idiot I did not. I made a Christmas quilt for Tam Moo and I think it will get much love. I do not feel the need to receive a quilt in return. Its ok to gift and that is what this is all about. I am sure she has her reasons for not writing. Life happens to all of us. I thank everyone for being here, for the friendship gifted and the love of quilting we all share. This is enough for me :)

oldcatlady 09-08-2014 08:38 AM

I agree w/Elisabrat. I do not need a quilt either. Besides I would not feel right about taking a quilt when I did not give someone a quilt. I'm OK with it. I enjoyed the process and got a quilt done that I probably would not have otherwise :)

This is the only picture I have of the quilt. I do have to admit that I did not do this quilt alone. My mother, Lestrong601, helped me with it. Lots of love, time and laughs were put in to this. I adore the quilt you made for me emc1118. I have it on my side of the bed it helps keep me warm. Thanks for all your love you put into it Libby

This is an amazing quilt that emc1118 made for me. I LOVE everything about it. Thank you so much. The extra special treat too was wonderful. I have already found some patterns I want to do.

Yosamitesa 09-10-2014 12:57 PM

Very pretty. oldcatlady...I sent you a PM. I heard from your partner!!!

emc1118 09-10-2014 04:13 PM

Thanks for posting pic Melinda. It was a fun swap. Had a great time. Will have to remember to look for next yearOs swap.

dabbler312 10-10-2014 08:03 AM

Wow, Melinda I love the quilt you made - is that your own pattern or is one you purchased? If you purchased it can you share the name of the pattern. Love the quilt you received in exchange. All the quilts were over the top beautiful.

I love mine. It's warm and snuggly. It's in my 'reading' area, although, it's more like a napping area now. This was a fun swap!
