Yes. I posted it when I was finished with it. It is back a few pages on page 32.
Givio has done us all a huge favor, and started a photo album of all our RR pictures. Thanks so much, Givio! You can see it here: https://www.quiltingboard.com/member...bums20339.html |
Thank you Givio! It is so nice having all the pics in one place instead of having to scroll back through all the pages. And seeing the transformation is wonderful.
|
Thanks for creating the album, givio. It will be fun to look back at the progress as we go.
|
Thanks for the album, it's great to have everything in one place.
|
What a great idea Givio! Now I can be more efficient with my gawking and stalking!
|
Thanks for the album - sure is fun looking at all the progress!
I started sewing on Bugaroo's quilt this morning, so no more changing my mind! |
Givio, thanks for putting all the blocks together!
Bugaroo, I put Mona's center in the mail this morning. I will PM the tracking info |
Nice job Givio!
Had technical issues printing my journal insert Monday (no color printing at home, issues with the file when I got to the office store) so I got my round off to Mary today, was sent Priority and should arrive Monday. After the hubby gets home, I'll have him read the receipt and send the tracking numbers to Mary in a PM. The lengths I will go to in order to hide my horrible hand writing... I could have spent weeks just doing that but I had a deadline I was going to make this time. Think I mentioned this before, I included some little scraps that I used in my center along with it. I don't really expect that any of you will use them, but just in case someone does and wants more -- I have another entire baggy full of them that I didn't include but could quickly be sent if needed. Sensible folks will say no thanks, I'll keep to my stash :p |
Givio - I was thinking that having the pictures all in one spot would be a great idea. But I am technically challenged. So thank you. Maybe one day I will learn how!
|
Thanks, Iceblossom. I will watch for it in the mail and let you know when it arrives.

Today was my first "Old Fashion Star" class with Cindy Willaims (The Math Whisper). Oh my gosh!!! I have taken classes with her before but she just keeps getting better! This is my center medalion - feathered star. Rows are loose. Too tired to finish tonight. The next round is a light gray green with trees and reindeer. My goal is to have Christmas quilts for both extra bedrooms... may not finish the 2nd this year.
|
Love it, bugaroo! Feathered star blocks are a challenge and you mastered it!
|
That's beautiful, Bug! That kind of star always intimidated me. Perfect for a quilt center!
|
Bug, nice fussy cut center! That's ambitious, two Christmas quilts plus everything else you are sewing/doing. Keep your goal to one, then it will be a pleasant surprise to yourself if you do more.
I'm glad if the album will be useful to you all. :-) |

Here is a sneak peak at Bugaroo's center. And that is not the lighting, I used ombre fabric.
I really like turning on point, but didn't want to actually turn the center so did a mock turning instead. |
Bugaroo--I often look at the feathered blocks and admire them...never tried one though.
Wow Macybaby----looking good!! |

Macybaby, I love it!! I was hoping that someone would add to the center... I just didn't like the square shape I had. Now it looks like a more complicated medallion. And I would never have thought of light blue. That is just one of the things I enjoy with this round robin -- different ideas coming together.
QuiltNan, the name is The Old Fashion Star. Cindy is 71 and her mom is 92 and still quilting!! They both live in Franklin, NC. Her mom sometimes calls during class just to check on how things are going. Below is Cindy's examples of this quilt she designed. She makes a quilt, then makes the pattern, makes another quilt using the pattern, then writes the book! She's published several as well as technique books. I am starting her monthly class, Fab15, next week. In it she teaches one technique each month and gives homework to practice... practice is making another quilt called Evergreen. |
Thanks for the progress pic, Macybaby. It’s looking good!
Bug, it’s amazing how different the quilts look in different colors. I love the black and pink one! |

Our homework was to finish the center and add the first border.
|
Bugaroo, I'm thinking of embroidering purple/dr. orange bees randomly in the blue/green squares, to match the colors of the flowers. Something more of an outline in design. The blue in the squares matches the center much better in person too.
Just noticed that at the top of the picture, there are pages with some of the other ideas I was considering. |
Macybaby, that sounds wonderful! Can't wait to see what you come up with.

Bug and Macybaby love want you guys are working on. I'll be getting Jaba's quilt today.
|
I got TravelingGramma's center today. Mona, your round is going to be a hard one to follow! So pretty!! :) Good thing I have some time to decide....
|
Carriem - I know what you mean. My mind is blank as I look at MacyBabys - so I am praying that Jaba's round on it will put a light on it. And then of course it may make it worse!! But having the extra time will help - We are way ahead of ourselves!
And remember to keep your round to a max of 6" otherwise it will get too large. |
I've got the sides sewn on Bug's center, after I add the embroidery I'll trim it down. I like to make the outside blocks on the large side so I can trim and get a nice edge.
|
I do the same thing Macybaby. Much better to have a little big than too small. I'm still on hold mailing until the Post Office delivers my envelopes. I have the regular paper ones but was worried the quilt may get damaged. What is everyone else using?
|
Thanks Givio, the thread is awesome. I mailed my round to you today. The tracking # is 9505 5137 1232 0192 4532 83. Please post my pic as I still don't know how. Thank you so much.

I'm replying for her (Mary) but she said her post office is usually out of the boxes and so has ordered a box of the padded envelopes, and will be using them. I think if I do further swapping, it is probably the way to go. Certainly nice to have on hand. |

LeeAnn sent me a picture of the border she added to my center. It is amazing!!!! I love it. Thank you so much, LeeAnn!!! |
Bugaroo--my bubble envelopes still haven't shown up even though I did get notice they shipped. I ended up putting the center back in the bubble mailer it arrived in and then got another priority envelope at the post office to put that inside. It was actually a little cheaper than the flat rate...it was one of those that is kind of like plastic on the inside/paper on the outside (not sure how to explain it).
|
Probably you mean it was Tyvek.
Okay, LeeAnn, I'll watch for the package. |
You are welcome, Mary. It was fun. I'm anxious to see what will be added to it. I'm happy you are pleased. What makes Round Robins so fun is the amazing work and ideas of other people....things you would never think of. You actually end up with a piece of art. I love it.
|
Round Robin quilts are definitely art! I love that too.
I use the padded flat rate mailer. It is lightweight and protects the contents with a bubble lining. I keep a stock on hand. When I get low, I order 20 or so more. I sell off stash fabric online every so often, and use them for that. I don't know if they are big enough to hold our quilts and all the fabric, journals and stuff traveling with them. If not, maybe the Tyvek envelope, tho it will be weighed. Lee Ann and Mary... can either one of you post Lee Ann's picture? I'm sure we are all dying to see her round! Love the creativity I'm seeing! |
My package from Reba arrived yesterday! It was a busy flurry of activity, just before we were leaving for Costco so I have saved opening it until after I write this post.
I'm so excited, pretty much set for what I'm going to do, but I waited to do it until I had the top in hand. Hubby will be working (6) 12 hour days next week (a person on vacation). He was home for 4 days in a row over the 4th, it was nice to see him and do things together, but I'm more used to him working the overtime. Not sewing related but in terms of doggie joy, the bag of dry cat food on top of the refrigerator fell over today, for the first time ever, but the dogs always knew it would happen. Food fell from the sky! |
I'll post a picture of LeeAnn's round when I get it. :-)

I finished MacyBaby's center and am ready to send it on to Travelinggrandma. The center had lots of movement with all the small pieces so I with this for my round to "stop" it a bit and to bring out the black and yellow in the center. I think it leaves lots of color options for the next round. Hope it will work for you Macy...
|
Ooo la la! I just love how each of these is so different -- and even my center will come home with some personality :)
|
Carriem, I received your package. Looks so warm and fallish!
Jaba, Wow, now that's a great way to make the colors pop. Again... I never would have thought of that... looks great and this is what makes round robin so fun! |
