Thanks for the update on Jaba.

Ice, it looks beautiful. Pictures are wonderful but I bet its even brighter in person.

I think it does look better in person and that the pink and blue aren't quite so bright as they are in my picture. Mary and the rest of my group have a bit of a head start in figuring out the colors since they've already seen the actual fabrics go through their hands in previous rounds.

But it was a challenge coming up with anything other than a plain black border! What do you do when every inch is already perfect??

My complements again to us all for some absolutely wonderful stuff and final projects/to come in both groups.

Hubby and I are hoping to take it to his work this weekend and hang it up in the lunch room and try for a better picture -- will at least be able to get the laundry hamper and my hair bands out of the view. Then mail on Monday.

I'm planning on getting to work on Jaba's round this weekend. I've had it draped over my LA for several days, and I'm still not having any bright lights going off on what to do. I've got a few ideas so maybe if I start pulling fabric it will come together.

This is the first round that I've not already had a good idea of what I wanted to do based on pictures before the top even showed up in the mail.

Anyone else out there still getting the final round completed?

Getting the idea is the hard part, Macybaby...

I let Mary know I still haven't gotten to the post office :( I've just been pretty much flat in bed most of the last couple of weeks with brief computer/quilting periods. It's a combination of physical type issue flare-ups, good news is that mentally I'm pretty good staring at the ceiling! Having the hubby drive me places this week, so hoping for Saturday for the Post Office.

I haven't heard back from Rebecca in a week or so, I know she is still working on her round to my center but that she was under the weather too. I told her not to stress and if she could get "substantial completion" photos for the group by the 15th with a later mail out that was fine. I also gave her extra play in how big the borders could be.

I think I know how I want to incorporate those basket blocks into my top. Won't know if it is going to be on the top or the back of the quilt, but I think a simple lattice with a 3D effect of a little shadow will be great. So far as I know, my top is still square and I am planning on ending up with a rectangle :)

Is anyone else planning on adding on an additional row?

I pulled fabric and played around this morning, and am pretty sure I'm going to use a smaller 8 point star on point around the edge. It works out that I can put 10 across and they'll fit perfectly with them being 6" across diagonally. Does mean I've got to cut at 2 5/8 instead of 2 1/2 but that is not a big deal. BTW- it's the star that Jaba used as her very center. It's a simple block so making 36 of them should go fast. It does mean 144 FG . . .

I'm planning on going to the LQS this afternoon, so I think I'm going to look for fabric for Jaba's quilt. There is a lot of batik and that is something I have very little of (don't really care for it). I've got a couple of blenders that would work, but since I'll be at the LQS, might as well look for something I like better. And then I can get an extra half yard that could be used for the binding.
