Travelinggramma, that is a darling quilt! Perfect for my Project Linus collection. Thank you for the new idea to use up my little squares. Rats, I forgot to count how many it uses. I went back to see and it uses 132, 2.5s for the baby quilt. I saved the pattern for future use. Yeah!!

Thank you for my Christmas Candies, Sewbizgirl!! :) You don't know how nice it is to get a surprise like that in the mail after a long day at work!
|
Happylab, your birthday candies were dropped off at the post office this morning. Are you going to be able to hold off opening them for a full month? We'll find out soon.
Happy Birthday a month early. Think of this as the beginning of the candy year so you're getting yours first instead of last. |
Glad you got them, LC!
I got mine from Macybaby and Ibex today! It is nice to have fun mail. Those who haven't mailed yet... be sure to fussy cut your pieces. If the 'subjects' are cut in half or heads missing, they don't make sense and aren't fit for anything but the trash can. Please remember! |
Sewbizgirl, I use those headless items for color background. I assumed everyone did. More fussy cutting in my future. Thank you for the heads up (bad pun, I know....)
|
I agree with ibex94, I had no idea any of these were supposed to be fussy cut. Most of the ones I receive aren't... I'll do my best in the future.
Received my envelope from WMUTeach yesterday in the mail. I love the hand drawn tree on the front, very cool. Thank you for the pretty candies. I'm not sure what I'm doing with them yet. :) |

My recommendation is to fussy cut if appropriate. If the print just doesn't lead itself to fuzzy cutting, using the little square as a color block can be a solution or an image can be just peeking our from the seam. I know some of my birthday candies and some Christmas blocks were fussy cut to get an image in the center of the square. Others were just cut to highlight the dominate color.
I attached a photo of a little quilt for a stuffed bear. I used 36 of my 2.5s. The bear, quilt and other items will be donated to the Samaritan's Purse Christmas Child project my church is participating in again this year. What an easy way to bring a smile to a child! |
