The first three envelopes for this month went in the mailbox this morning and were gone late this afternoon. Ran out of stamps......to the post office tomorrow to stock up on stamps and to get the last birthday girl's package in the mail. July is a big one. I don't recall that many in one month ever before in our swapping history.

Tomorrow will be sewing day for me. I can get my triple triplets all in order in the afternoon. Have a wonderful week-end, all.

caught up on the thread. So happy that there are so many people join in on the Mystery Quilt.

So So happy that the packages are flowing in ...lets keep that going too! I hope June can be the month that each birthday girl gets all of her packages on time.

I am so sorry that I had you all waiting on me to give you the 2nd clue. Last week I ended up taking way too much pain medicine for a pulled muscle in my back and it did not make my stomach happy. (and I could not really stay awake long ) but I'm okay now. worse part ....I could not even sew.

Hope everyone enjoys the weekend. I am looking forward to a rainy Sunday and sewing all day long. I have put it on my calendar and told everyone ... I am busy. (fingers crossed)

Barb

ps.....July has 7 birthdays are you ready???

Aurora 06-02-2018 02:26 AM

My June Birthday Candies were mailed yesterday. I am expecting Armylady2012's to arrive first because she is closest to me.

Lstew2212 06-02-2018 03:48 AM

My June birthdays will be going in the mail this morning as soon as my post office opens up, at 8:30. I am going to do the candy mystery but I will be behind on this one. I am costuming our little theater's production of "The Hunchback of Notre Dame" With two other ladies, it is going smoothly. YAY

Then I hope to finish a small wall hanging to enter in our local county fair.

Happy June everyone :)

sewbizgirl 06-02-2018 04:24 AM

Thank you for the clue, Barb. Hope you are feeling better now. For your back: Lie on ice. I have a big gel pack that I keep in the refridgerator for this purpose. It's made by "Body Ice". 15 minutes at a time on that really helps. It brings down the inflamation that is causing the pain, and helps the muscles to heal.

sewbizgirl 06-02-2018 04:25 AM

Janice, fun photo of your threesies! Love seeing your fabrics in those.

sunrise450 06-02-2018 04:55 AM

I have changed my settings:wave:,but still can't post a photo. Am giving up for now till my daughter can come over and help me. Today is filled , no sewing, darn. Tomorrow is another day and I can sew all day.:sew:
Everyone have a good one!

barbarakibler23 06-02-2018 05:49 PM

Big plans tomorrow....Im gonna sew and organize my basement. (where my sewing is). 5 weeks ago we got the inside of our house painted and some of the Stuff (little bit) went back where it belongs and the rest well...is all over the basement. and really getting in my creative way! So I'm going to do a little bit of both. Sew, toss and organize.

I have a quilt to finish for my granddaughter it is a "Frozen" one with both of the sisters on it. Almost done, really want to give it to her on Tuesday. That's the goal! Then after that I can sew my 9 patches.

Any big goals for anyone else this weekend?

Barb

IceLeopard 06-02-2018 06:20 PM

Recovering. I drank about half a glass of Light Lemonade -- I didn't realize it was "light" because nothing on Outback's menu indicated it was so. The first sip tasted off and it just got worse and worse the more I drank. I think it had that nasty old sucralose stuff in it, because if it had been another artificial sweetener, I would have known right from the first sip. Let's just say the results were not pretty.

JuanitaBean 06-02-2018 06:34 PM

Yes WMUTeach I did received your candies 5-19 I copied and passed the wrong list sorry.

givio 06-02-2018 06:38 PM

IceLeopard! Oh, hope you are right as rain soon!

Barb, one of my weekend goals is to post a picture of the top I'm working on in the 9patch swap thread. I was going to do it today, but instead my husband and I went to the market, bought some fruit, veggies, got free coffee, tea, and popcorn (which is a big draw for going to this market), and got some flowers, and a plum tree. When we got home, I got distracted with our purchases-- put away groceries, cut up fresh pears and peaches to snack, boiled sweet potatoes, planted flowers, etc. I hope the weather is good tomorrow, so I can take my picture. I prefer to lay the quilt top somewhere outdoors, as I don't have a good place big enough indoors.

Patrick's Mom 06-02-2018 06:46 PM

Four more candy envelopes received today:
Gaijin
Lottie Parker
Onaemtnest
Pinkflowers

Total received=28 Nine more to go! The first 14 are listed in post #732. The second 10 are in post #795.

Barb

This weekend is my guild's annual quilt show. I'll be taking a three-hour class from Cheryl Lynch on her Mini Mosaic Quilts. I first saw her little quilts on The Quilt Show earlier this year. The technique looks fun, and several of my friends will be taking the class too.

I wish it would stop raining though! I hate dragging my supplies into the building from the parking lot in the pouring-down rain.

Here is a link on her website describing the technique:

I think you should post it on our thread too. Good practice and we would love to see it. Good luck. My photos are always sideways....I have no idea why!

As Barb suggested my showing what I did with 9patches, I'll post here my progress with my latest WIP. So far I've got it sewn in three columns that each have three rows. You can use your candies to do the same, if you like, as the center pieces are 2 1/2" (2" finished). The star pattern is called 'Sister's Choice.'

sewbizgirl 06-04-2018 03:54 AM

Love your Sister’s Choice! How smart to do it in 3 pieces so you can quilt it yourself.
