My February birthday pkgs are in the mail. I wonder, does it bother some of the birthday girls to get their candies so early?

My survey answer as a receiver: It did not bother me to get them early, I could choose to stack them and wait for the big reveal or open as I go. It is nice to have options. Plus I was able to update the received list as well as send feedback a little at a time without being overwhelmed if I had gotten them all on the same day.
My survey answer as a sender: I am an early bird sender, and have had some of mine lost/stolen in the mail, probably because I use festive colored envelopes that scream "gift" to some mail thieves. Or just plain bad luck on my part. But because I sent early, and saw from the b'day ladies list it did not arrive, I was able to send a 2nd card and still arrive "on time" for her birthday.
Conclusion: I think getting a card late and/or after my birthday is anti-climatic and not fun. So I hope my quilting friends aim to be early for me, and I will be early for them unless I hear from your survey here that it is not a popular idea. I am always willing to change to make my friends happier. Jane Quilter

In my house you are the Birthday Princess for as long as you are receiving gifts!! To me it’s not anticlimactic to receive late, it’s more of a relief.

It takes prep work at the beginning of the swap. I pre-make all my cards and pre-package all my candy. That makes it super easy to mail each month!

That said, I’m away from home visiting my daughter. But I’ll be flying back Saturday, after 2.5 weeks. Maybe I’ll have some prizes waiting. :D

I love getting mine early... It's the late packages that are annoying. Once my birthday arrives, I don't want to mess with tracking them any more.

I mail early and like receiving all month in my birthday month so I appreciate those that mail when it works best for them. I stack them up and and save them for my birthday. I find it exciting to see them stack up.

I mailed February birthday candies yesterday.

I was thinking about taking a year off but just loved all the candies I got this year and I need to make as many quilts as possible for Quilts for Cure this year so Barb, I'm in again for this year. :)

My February birthday cards went in the mail yesterday.

Hello Ladies. I have been gone since Sunday morning to a Quilt Retreat. Was so much fun to connect with some of the ladies at that Retreat that we only each other yearly at that retreat. But nice to get home to my warm house. Brrr!!!! It's cold here in Minnesota! I just got home an hour ago and the temperature in my car said -8! While I was gone, I received my birthday package from texastam. I am still waiting on three packages. Rosemary Attaway and Janice McCloskey, I will be sending your packages in the mail tomorrow.

For what it is worth, I do most of my cutting and packaging on Super Bowl Sunday. I do not have cable/antenna, so the game is not all that important to me. I have NPR and audio books to keep me company while my rotary cutter whirs and I practice counting to 50! Of course, before that day, I pull out my fabrics, press, and measure.

I mailed the last three birthday candies yesterday! I'm physically moving on the 29th, and will have to commute back to Mesa for some last minute updates on this place before I list it for sale. I'm excited and will be even more so when this place sells and I can get the mortgage paid down on the new place! I haven't moved to a new residence in over 30 years, so I'm having a hard time getting rid of excess 'stuff'. But not fabric! That is a no-brainer. I have a lovely large craft room in the new residence, and have already unpacked and organized most of that room. Lots left to do, but I'm trying to be systematic about what gets done.

I bought a bunch of fat quarters yesterday at Salvation Army. Someone had donated a huge stash of fabric. Really pretty pieces. Lots of yardage. I was drooling. I did buy some. Wish I could buy it all.

TG, I see a pic of your envelope in the Informed Delivery system with USPS so it should arrive today along with several others. :)

I mailed out squishes on Saturday. I’m curious when they will be delivered. We won’t get mail tomorrow due to severe cold temperatures.

I have my fabric set set out for cutting this weekend. Hopefully I can get them all cut and several months worth set up.

I plan on getting some of my cutting done tomorrow. (put the packing on hold) we are suppose to be -17 below zero tomorrow. Im not going anywhere!

My name is Brenda, and I live in sunny Florida (right now it’s cool but sunny). I have been quilting since taught at age 7-8years old by my grandmother and great grandmother. I am mostly a scrappy person but my favorite colors are purples, blues, yellows, and greens. I love everything bright. I have tried to make vintage looking quilts but my passion is always brights. The brighter the better. I makebunches of quilts for Wolfsons Children Hospital here in FL and Shands as well. I have a one of a kind husbands (sorry ladies they broke the mold after him) 😀 of 28 wonderful and very happy years with an occasional bump in the road😉. I have 2 grown boys Tim & Chris who support my fabric addiction, and 2 grand babies Lilli & Hunter. That’s about it for me. I am so excited to be part of this group. Thanks for letting me join.

Pulled out my bin of ????? to get ready for my week-end cutting frenzy. I just had to do a quick check and discovered again, I discover this every year, that you can get 56 2.5 squares from a fat quarter. Off I go to the ironing board. Yup, it is cold here too just like at Barb's. University (Western Michigan University) where I work part-time is closed again tomorrow. Temps should be about -15 or so but wind chill a minus 35 to 38. Burrr. A perfect time to press fabrics for cutting. Stay warm folks!
