I did that last boom then included some of the blocks in my finished quilt.

mjpEncinitas - I love your idea to tackle a few challenging blocks each boom! I will certainly be doing that considering I'm only a quilter of less than two years. I make up for my lack of experience with loads of patience and starch so that my blocks are made as perfect as I can. Making last years BH ORL mystery taught me to sew, starch, press, trim, sew, starch, press, trim, repeat, repeat, repeat....

I recall seeing a previous boomer show her 'trial blocks' made to ensure she had the accuracy down before cutting into other's fabrics. That will likely be me this Boom :)

BTW - I will be over the moon happy with any block style that you make for me!

My local quilt shop has asked me to teach a class, I have been working on the finished project we will be sewing, a 3D cube table runner. And I think we can get a few place mats from the same piece of fabric they will need to complete the table runner.

I'm nuts about pressing too. I press the whole cut of fabric with steam and/or starch. Nothing wet touches it again until the block is finished using only a dry iron.

I wish I could take that class. I know I’d learn a lot.

Forgot to mention I press after every seam, always.

I just adored the chickens that Hav4boys posted a few days ago. So I too decided to work on these BOM chickens from Fat Cat designs. Here are January and the February blocks.
