Afternoon, early birds. A request. If you have not yet shipped your blocks, please hold them until Thursday of next week. I’m going out of town and although I have a house sitter, you know I prefer to be here when they arrive. If you’ve already shipped and I’ve replied, you’re golden! I’ll be here thru Friday. Next Thursday you can begin shipping again. Thank you!

This was one of Moonrise’s medallions. I hope this works for you. I put the scraps in the pkg but maybe a chapstick holder or pen is about all that’s left!

Gorgeous block GramE

Janice McC 09-18-2019 04:56 AM

Good morning. My cold disappeared (hay fever?) so today is looking better. Hav, I didn't notice it originally, but your center of the star is mostly the lighter purple and the rest darker. If you planned it that way, great fussy cutting! If not, it was serendipity. Love this one!

GramE, this is gorgeous. Love the colors with Moon's medallion F8. Beautiful. :)

Thanks. Too hot here today for me to be outside. Going back to make another block after supper.

sewbizgirl 09-20-2019 02:35 PM

Beautiful blocks being made, ladies! Terri, great piecing on that drunkard's path. Those curves are hard. Worth it, tho!

Waiting for the heat to break here, so we can have some Fall.

Queenbarbiej 09-20-2019 03:07 PM

Thank you GramE. Wonderful block and color.

Janice McC 09-20-2019 05:26 PM

That's my plan for a couple of nights from now...under a gorgeous CO sky.

GramE, you made the most of QBJ's f8 with your fabric. I love the mottled look with her fabric.

This is for Queenbarbiej. I hope the blue is the proper shade. I couldn’t find what you sent so I used the reverse side of one I had that was a shade closer to your sample. It is called the windmill from 100 blocks book 10. My picture looks a bit askew, maybe i’ll Try again tomorrow.

One for Hav4boys, finally. I think I’m the only one not done yet. I’m plodding along as fast as life will let me. I’ll be done before the deadline.

Mona G 09-21-2019 06:05 PM

I love that pattern Grame.
I still have a few left to go also.

GramE 09-21-2019 06:22 PM

Thank you Mona. I was feeling pretty lonely.

Janice McC 09-21-2019 06:40 PM

This is a beautiful block, GramE. I’m not done yet either and won’t be until at least a week from now. No worries! Take every day of the swap period. We had a last minute vakay opportunity so we took it. We’re in Denver tonight and just finished walking miles and grabbing bread, cheese, olives, prosciutto, wine and some other little goodies for dinner. Kind of an in hotel room tapas picnic. De-lish! I’d better be walking miles tomorrow to undo the damage of tonight. Hope you all enjoy your evening. :)

GramE, great block.

Janice sounds like a fun time, how was your Tappas dinner.

Very strange day here, first it poured with lots of thunder and lightening. Storms cleared up and we were able to pull all the rest of the docks and boat lifts out. We all gathered for a soup festival and started poring agin. Rain didn’t last long and the sun came out followed by massive winds. Pretty strange that the weather kept changing throughout the day

Janice McC 09-22-2019 01:25 AM

Our dinner was wonderful, like the “old” days where we’d grab a loaf of bread, a little cheese and a cheap wine and call it dinner, a fancy one at that. Unfortunately, as a True early bird, I’m wide awake at 3:00 am so I’m reading emails, posts, and checking Pinterest. We had heavy turbulence on part of our flight yesterday. Weather was quite varied between home and Denver. Not, thank goodness, like you had. Glad you were able to have your soup festival (love that idea - is is a soup pot luck?) and pull those docks.

Libster 09-22-2019 03:12 AM

Terri, your soup festival sounds like the perfect meal when the weather is being finicky. I've got our Soup Supper scheduled at church for October 23rd, hoping it's going to be a whole lot cooler here by then. I always look forward to that one.
Janice, your tappas sounds like the perfect picnic for a hotel room! Now that's what I call "relaxing and enjoying" ! Way to unwind.

terriamn 09-22-2019 10:10 AM

Yes our soup festival was a pot luck of soups, breads and deserts. One bread was more of a sandwich the gal made that she saw on Pinterest. Hawaiian buns split, inside ham and cheese. Top had melted butter, garlic and sautéed onion. Had a sample and it was very tasty. My favorite soups were home made chicken dumpling, potato-sausage- kale and my very favorite tortellini sausage. Some of the others were chili, sauerkraut, wild rice and vegetable. One of the deserts was a fruit cobbler made in a cast iron skillet on an open fire. Great time with friends

Sounds wonderful Terriamn and Janice.

Got one block done yesterday, this is for Libster. Working on the last two this week.

Macybaby 09-22-2019 01:28 PM

Oh! Lots of lovely blocks still showing up!

I've not done much sewing for a couple of weeks now. Been spending today moving stuff (including machines) around in my sewing room because my new embroidery machine was too big to fit where my old one was.

My DD and her fiance put an offer in on a house on Friday, got a counter on Saturday which they decided to accept. The house is currently empty and they are renting so they hope to be closing 5 weeks. That would be very exciting as we plan on being in GA at the time so will be able to see the new home!

Libster 09-22-2019 01:29 PM

Mona, love my block! Thank you. I wasn't sure how I'd like this black fabric, but I think I'm going to love this quilt put together.

sewbizgirl 09-22-2019 04:15 PM

"In a galaxy, far far away..."

Libster, this quilt is going to be smashing!

I want to say from 100 blocks #10. Pivot Point and you might not recognize it, I have a tendency to use artistic license when I make blocks. Block #960 on page 48 of volume 10. I use this block a lot. It has potential for 2, 3, or 4 colors. And just a smidgen of one color with that small block in the center!

Janice McC 09-23-2019 04:32 AM

Terriamn, I love the soup festival idea. Glad you had lots of good food to chose from.

Love your block Mona. You’re almost done, too.
Macybaby, How exciting about your DD’s new home. It’ll be tough to wait to get in but I’m hopeful they’ll live many happy years there. Congrats.

So internet is spotty enough up here that that I can post and such but not get on the gallery so it’ll have to wait. We’re at 8700 feet and then some. No problem with the altitude but it’s so dry I’ve got to drink water constantly. Sunrise is in about 20 minutes and it appears I’m about the only one up so I’ll have it all to myself. :). DH is tucked in bed but he might surprise me and appear to see the sunrise. It’s 33 degrees outside. Brrr.

Big news! DS and FDIL are eloping this weekend! They’d planned to do it in November in Asheville with just immediate family at the courthouse but work is taking them both to our old home, San Diego, and they called to ask if we’d be ok with them marrying out there and then having a big ceremony/reception next year after the baby comes. DH and I looked at each other and said to go for it. This is what they want to do so we’re ok with it. We’ll see them in a couple of weeks anyway. I’m not as disappointed as I thought I’d be. How can I be when there’s so much happiness floating around us right now? And the grand is growing nicely and still looks to turn up right around Christmas! If all goes well, they’ll be married this weekend. We’ll see!

terriamn 09-23-2019 04:59 AM

Wonderful news, Congratulations to the mother and father of the groom.

wow that is cold Janice, hope you brought your winter wolves with

sewbizgirl 09-23-2019 05:39 AM

Such happy news, Janice! Congrats to you all! And a baby by Christmas is the best gift of all....

Today is the first day I've actually felt a break in the heat! It's only 68 degrees currently, and I'm supposed to teach a class in the pool at 10. I hope somebody shows up for it. This may be our last week for water classes until next Summer. I'm not complaining, tho. I'm so ready for Fall!

I thought I posted yesterday but I’m not seeing it. This is a side swap for GramE. I hope you like it. Mailing this week. Absolutely no hurry on my block. The later boom doesn’t get to us until November. I just wanted to make sure you got this block when your boom arrives. I love to do appliqué and since that’s very different from what you do I chose this block.
