Evening to all the EB’s. Hope you all are having a nice long weekend. As you know, mine started out rough with the fall, but happily my knee is much better. Yay. We came home early from our weekend. Our son is coming home for a few days from NC with his pup, Henri. His fiancé is traveling this week and he’s able to work his job remotely so he thought he’d visit us. Yay! Probably no block work for the next few days. I only have a few left and two of those are cut out and the third decided upon.

GramE, if only I were closer, I’d trade my help for a few goodies! Don’t overdo. Nobody will notice a few dust bunnies in the corners. I know this from experience.

I was looking at GramE's blocks and noticed everyone used her accent fabric so I remade her one after taking that one apart. Additionally I made my last block for GramE.

you certainly did not need to take them apart. Everyone won’t have blue. Yours are absolutely best. Gonna be a wonderful quilt. I’m gonna feel too guilty to keep it for myself. Thank you so much!

I know but having people over is a great motivator to do more that I normally would at one time. And much would be outside because it’s been so hot here this summer many outside jobs have gone undone. Once they are done, my fall cleaning will be done and I can check them off for another year! hahaha. It’s time for pain treatments also, so I’ll get the work done, then get to stay down for a few days. This knee is gonna make sure I don’t over do! Grands are all home this weekend so much fun is happening. And my daughter has been by, she is at my eldest’s mini farm learning to supervise children on horse rides for teen youth group, getting used to correcting and leading the horses and she’s excited. Might even convince her to help me with an iou for a batch of meatballs!

So so glad you have had a visit. They are so wonderful for me. Grown children taking timeout to visit is such a blessing. In your case, much to talk about, with planning for the future.

Yes, I did decopage with fabric strips and Dodge podge for furniture. It's worked out great.

This is a double T for Moonrise. T for Tennessee. But it should be a 2 X 2 T because there is 4 of them.

hav4boys 09-02-2019 07:20 PM

THank you SBG. I have found I love paper peicing.

Kassaundra 09-02-2019 07:37 PM

Pat, yours is one of my favorite groups of blocks, even though it is quite pastelly, is that a word??? lol lol I think your finished quilt is going to be stunning.

i was thinking yesterday how i’m Getting marvelous blocks. I threw that blue in at the last minute and they are all spectacular. I can’t wait to see it together. I bought it in Tennessee specifically for the boom because it looked liked a good match to white.

Lstew2212 09-03-2019 03:56 AM

Good morning ladies, sorry to hear about all the injuries, get better soon. Loving all the pretty blocks.

Well, this morning started off good. I got the sewing room thread/scrap free. 2 vacuum cleaners. Cleaned the refrigerator, made supper, cleaned up the mess. But the call of that clean sewing room was too much! Well, at the end of the day, the cobwebs are still gone!

Might be my only one for the week but it’s for Queenbarbie. Before I started making it my own it’s High Tea block #264 volume 3 page 57 in 100 blocks. I printed out a copy weeks ago because of the square (well in my version there’s a square) in the center! Tried to follow a repeat but had to settle for close.

sewbizgirl 09-03-2019 05:13 PM

GramE, that block for QB is so pretty! I like it a lot!

Thank you Sewbizgirl. The challenge was the busy fabric was overpowering the eagle. But then getting enough focus fabric in to make it a focus fabric. A focus fabric but not totally the focal point. I think I found a balance by enlarging the eagle’s space in the block.

Framing the eagle was a great solution.

I hope that’s enough blue. I shot this pic without the 1/4 seam allowance so you can see the truer heart shapes. The shot with the 1/4 all the way around looked odd.

GramE my block looks wonderful. Thank you so much. When I paired the two fabrics I didn't think of the flowers over powering the eagle. Thanks for your magic skills. Here is a bonus block for GramE.

Janice McC 09-04-2019 04:16 AM

Reminder that some photos on the gallery are duplicating improperly. I've had to repeatedly go in and delete them and re-add. Sometimes it takes, sometimes it doesn't.

I haven't wanted to make much of this but I now need to let you know that I'm having some serious health problems. I will attempt to keep up with the pix as much as possible but I cannot guarantee I will be able to do so. Please keep on working as always and help each other as much as possible.

For this group, I've made all my blocks except those for Hav4boys. Hav, I'm terribly sorry, but at this point, I will be unable to sew your blocks. I barely completed the one for GramE this morning and it took me a couple of weeks. I will email you privately about this as well. I'm deeply sorry and I will return your F8s to you with the completed blocks.

Thanks everyone.

Queenbarbiej 09-04-2019 04:24 AM

Janice get better. If you need help let me know.

(lurking :D)...I came across this block and nearly squealed!
I've never seen anything like it. It's fabulous, mousie

Janice McC 09-04-2019 04:38 AM

Just one more thing. I want each and every one of you to know that this Boom will be completed and everyone will get their blocks back. I may have to look for help but nobody will be short-changed.

thank you. Haven't decoupage yet but I'm highly
interested in it. Yours looks great.

hav4boys 09-04-2019 07:53 AM

No worries about the blocks Janice, that is the least of my concerns. Take care of yourself, that is most important.

sewbizgirl 09-04-2019 01:04 PM

Beautiful and perfect block for GramE, Janice. I had not seen the 4 hearts block before.

Janice, could I help by sewing Hav’s blocks that you are unable to complete? I only did one group this time and finished already, so it wouldn’t be a hardship.

ibex94 09-04-2019 01:07 PM

Janice -- Hugs and prayers!

Mona G 09-04-2019 01:40 PM

Janice - take care of yourself. Hugs.

Janice McC 09-05-2019 02:33 AM

Thank you to everyone who posted here and sent emails and pm's with offers of help and thoughts and prayers. You all are so wonderfully kind. Yesterday, I will admit, was one of my worst days, and I'm afraid I may have presented a more dire picture than I meant to. I'm ok right now, just very, very shaky and some things (like sewing and cutting) that were completely natural are now extremely difficult. Docs are working to get meds straightened out and so far that hasn't happened adding to the problem but I have confidence everything will settle down soon. I'm still getting scans and tests and I've got no explanation for what's going on. But, sooner or later I will. In the meantime, I'm going to keep on trucking with the gallery (when it cooperates) and will keep you in the loop as much as I can without me becoming the focus of the swap. You all are the focus and I really want it to stay that way. Thank you all again. :)

Macybaby 09-05-2019 04:49 AM

We are all a bunch of Mother Hens at heart, and when one of our flock is hurting, we will all rally round for support. It's just what we do! Hope the Docs can get things figured out soon for you.

I've been having fun looking at the blocks in the gallery - This is going to be another fun one to put together when I get my blocks back.

jaba 09-07-2019 01:21 PM

Pretty quiet on here, everyone sewing?
Love all the blocks I see from this group. These quilts are going to be fantastic!

Mona G 09-07-2019 01:35 PM

No sewing for me today, at a wedding

terriamn 09-07-2019 06:49 PM

Picked out my next block pattern for Macybaby, think most everyone will be leaving by 11 tomorrow. Hopefully I can cut it out before the football ball game starts at noon tomorrow and sew it after the game.
