I am ready to start. I spent the weekend making Cars outfits for my grandsons and giving a White Dress Master I picked up last week a face lift.

Hav4boys, the machine makeover looks great but I like those smiles even better! Those grands just hold your heart in their hands, don't they? I have a 5 yr. old grand who would love the car outfit.

Since I already had these cut out, I sewed them this afternoon. I think I'm really going to like this quilt.

Libster, terrific bright blocks. I sorted this fabric this afternoon along with the rest of the F8s I have for the group. Beautiful selection of fabrics everyone! Two more due to come in and this group's will be ready to go. :) (I know just the fabric I'm going to use with yours...hope you'll like it!)

What great looking blocks! Now to be thinking what tone on tone I will be using.

Libster I made a practice star to see if this pattern would work. I wanted to see how many stars I can get in one block. I don't have any bright tone on tone but I do have bright solids. You can decide which color you would like in your block. From the center out: Coral, Light blue, lime green, and orange.

My favorite is the lime green. Love that block, first time I've seen three stars like that. Really like the pattern.

Lime green is a good choice. The triple star is something I came up with. I had to figure out how small to make the first star (3") then everything else came together. Each one double the last. So 3", 6" 12". I will have to work on the last round to get it 12.5".

Everything is packaged and on its way. I decided to use the cat material for the Early Birds so everyone had more options when making multiple blocks. I am asking for solid white and one color from the fabric to be used in the block. No black or red as that will be used in the sashing and binding.

Thanks for the reminder.. most Boomers really do prefer that blocks be made with a good portion of the f8s they send; it should be the focus of the block. Please let’s all make good use of everyone’s fabric. I’ve never had anyone tell me they appreciated a block made with one or two 4” pieces of their f8. Thank you!

Morning Early Birds. I've pulled Mona G's and Moonrise's fabrics for quick pix. I'd already sorted them out and feared messing up the packages I'd made so while I believe I got all of Mona's, I believe I missed two of Moonrise's but this will help a bit.

Also: It appears that all Early Bird fabrics will be in my hands today. I've begun packaging them up and they'll be ready soon. Those of you in only this group, that's GramE, Moonrise, Macybaby, and Mona G, I'll be ready to ship to you on Monday of next week. Any objections to receiving them ahead of schedule? This will not change the due date. You'll just have an extra week. For everyone else, the plan is to ship both groups together so I'll be holding yours for the remainder of the Night Owls' f8s.

GramE, Moonrise, Macybaby, and Mona G, let me know by the end of the weekend if you'd like me to ship early. If I do not hear from you, I will hold them until 8/11. Thanks!

Here is the block I made for myself. A little bit of everything and I still need to decide if I want to applique or embroidery the cat's face. The pattern was for an 8 inch square so I improvised.
