As you recall, my husband (27 years) and I separated (March) and divorced (April) last spring. Since then I have bought and totally remodeled an old house, started running and completed a 5k, started yoga, became a vegetarian, traveled to Greece by myself to see my son, and have lost 20 pounds! It has not been an easy journey but I can honestly say I am happier than I have been in a long time. (And just started dating a very nice guy!)

Now that the contractors are done with my upstairs, I'm in the process of painting and doing some work on my basement which will become my sewing area. I have had no desire to quilt until the past week or so... I'm excited the desire is returning. I'm not sure when, but at some point I will definitely join another boom - I genuinely miss all your friendship.

I hope this finds all of you well. I need to go back and read the past 6 months of posts so I know what all I've missed.

Hi all! Reminder you may start shipping your blocks to me again tomorrow.

Having a great time on vacation in Colorado. My house sitter is in love with my cat and dogs so I’m not sure they’ll still want us back when we return. Walked nearly 15k steps today which for me is huge. And we went up to the visitors center at the Rocky Mtn National Park where you could walk up about 300 vertical feet to 12,005 feet and see almost the whole world. If you’ve never climbed steps at that altitude, well, it’s a challenge unless you’re in excellent shape and I’m not. But we all did it and were rewarded with stunning vistas.

Anyway, am jabbering. Hope all of you are well. I’ll catch up on posts and pix this weekend. Enjoy your rest of the week.

Janice, have a great time. I would love to be where you are right now.

I finished another neck tie, I quilted it w/ contrasting thread so the back is complete w/o any added embroidery.

Thanks Everyone! I had a great birthday. Went to the casino and played bingo with Mom, she won twice! Spent my actual birthday day working on my first boom quilt. I needed to get the border on it so it’s now ready to go to the long armer. Then had a nice dinner at home with my husband and son.

Kass, you are the Tie Meister, hands down!

Hi Boomers! Just stopping by to take a look at all your beautiful blocks!! As always, fantastic and creative!! Janice, your quilt is amazing. I'm sure it will bring many years of peace and comfort.

I've been off line for a long time, but hopefully will get back to visiting on a regular basis. You all are special people. Enjoy the last few weeks of this boom. Can't wait to see the finished quilts. :o<3<3
