I sent my last block out to girlscouts one today. Had almost forgotten it as it came in after all the rest were done. Was cleaning up the area and found it!!
I have been sorting and ironing my three drawers of scraps - and while sitting with DH who is watching TV I am cutting them into 2", 2 1/2" and 3 1/2 " squares. Then onto my pile of strips. I saw this Quilt maze http://www.creativequiltgirl.com/2010/09/a-maze-ing-i/ and would like to try my hand at it.

tracibug 05-14-2013 03:25 PM

I'm here, living in chaos and hoping to not let anybody down and miss the deadline...

Send a few prayers and positive energy my way, please. ;)

Elisabrat 05-15-2013 06:08 AM

Traci OOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMMM OOOOOOOOOOMMMMMM keep saying this from deep inside and hum while you let it out.. you can now take a deep breath and rise to the challenge. The force is with you. :) You know sometimes life is like that girl but its up to you to not let it take you down without a huge fight so start pushing you can do it. You can also call if you need someone to chat at. I am here!

tracibug 05-15-2013 08:44 AM

42 days until I have to be out of my current home... my trip back to MN/WI will still happen, whether I have a house to move in to or not. I will leave California either June 25/26, drive thru Texas on the way to MN, be there until about 7/10 then drive back through the Spokane area to visit Mariposa. Hopefully, I'll have a place to move in to by 7/15 else I'll be couch surfing at the age of 43. That's how I roll, never too old to try something new.

And meanwhile... I have a few other commitments to take care of before I move...

Thought I would give you all a preview of my granddaughter's duvet that I am making out of my blocks. I have 6 more to come in and then I can finish it all up. But this is what I have so far. She likes the color purple but her room that she sleeps in has very deep blue ceiling with a cloud shaped over head light. So her mom requested blue/purple. My granddaughter likes owls and butterflies so that is what I am making. I do have some other things that I embroidered like lalaloopsy dolls which she collects. I can't believe how big it is and it still will have a 4 inch blue border going around the whole thing. I then will make it like a pillow case for the duvet. thank you all who have contributed to this with your blocks.

Rec'd lovely block from Abby's Mom. Thank you so much for swapping

travelinggramma 05-15-2013 06:05 PM

urgodschild - I was looking for mine and then when I checked the fabric you sent me was totally different! I love the blue/purple and what everyone did with it. She will love and treasure it! Make sure you quilt it well as she will no doubt love it to death!

Nothing in the mail today, hope everyone is finishing up. Still have 14 to receive.

joanelizbay 05-15-2013 06:46 PM

I do the same thing urgodschild! I didnt see the one I made but looked and she had sent me banana fabric.. I love seeing what people do with the blocks they receive! 14 to go? Wow..thats a lot with only 2 weeks to go! I guess Im lucky to only need 5! Be safe Janet when traveling!

jaydee3 05-15-2013 06:50 PM

I am missing 14 also urgodschild, hope everyone is okay and still sewing.

babyfireo4 05-16-2013 04:32 AM

Still sewing here. The pile is slowly dwindling! The challenge here is getting them mailed out lol! Landlord is coming through to do "inspections" next week so I'm organizing a bit more because I know this will light a fire under the person supposed to handle the upkeep on the houses :) Maybe we'll finally get the carpet on the stairs that was supposed to be put down in November. Not complaining but finding a bit of amusement in it. Finally getting the central air checked out today (been mentioning that for over 2 weeks because our house has been at 74-75 no matter what it's set at and was at 80 yesterday!) I am thankful that it's not middle of summer though, whew we'd be cooked! Okay no more venting, just getting busy on the house and then sewing! I think tomorrow is a good day to force myself to label envelopes! Updating pictures now that needs done today, *shakes head* how did pictures get so far behind...... no excuses, just gonna fix it! At least that's what my mama always tells me to do ;)

NanaKathy....that is going to be a great quilt. I want all of you to know that I did not send everyone in this group material for my granddaughter's duvet. Only 20 people got that material. The rest of you go different material for different quilts. So don't worry about that. I still have 10 more to come my way total but 6 are for the duvet. No hurry....June 1st is still a few weeks away. The duvet will have 30 blocks so I had to make 10 of them myself. Also being a duvet cover...it will not be quilted.

ArizonaKAT 05-16-2013 08:04 AM

I feel your pain. My garage is the industrial type with the monster door . . . that hasn't been working in weeks. My gd and I have to both lift the door in the morning to get the truck out for work. Called the landlord twice and finally heard from someone yesterday. But be a day late on the rent and see what happens.

Good luck to all who are still desperately sewing. I had to get mine done before the heat hit. The sewing machines are in the garage . . . and I can't get the door open (am I venting?). I finally cleaned out the pantry and put my Featherweight and table in there. So I can at least sew blocks in the ac. The dog's not happy. That was where her "Heidi hole" used to be. Now she has to hide under the FW table.

Nana, what a beautiful quilt thats going to be!!
Yesterday at work a lady brought in about 25 lap quilts. She said she drives all over Mo and surrounding states selling what she makes. I was excited at lst but when I looked at them they were all just a solid piece of fabric and were machine quilted in the same design. I will say that she had two quilts that were solid color, one white, one pink and they were quilted beautifully. She only wanted $20 for each quilt but I tend to prefer quilts that have designs in them, not just a piece of fabric...She did say she gets her fabric from Marshall Dry Goods in Arkansas and was going to start making queen and king size quilts. Not sure I would like to be a "traveling quilt salesman" like that though!

TheMamaHauser 05-16-2013 05:55 PM

You have mine pictured in #1377. It is the 6th set of pictures from the top, on the left.

My quilt guild does a birthday block swap. With my blocks I planned on giving it to a cancer survivors' group to raffle off for funds. Here is what my quilt looked like and I had an extra block left and made a bag to match. Back to work. Phannie

joanelizbay 05-17-2013 10:58 AM

Very pretty Phannie!! I love seeing the finished products! Oldcatlady, got mine yesterday too. Some really neat blocks in this one...sure wish I could get the hang of paper piecing and make some of the blocks! Ive already marked about 6 blocks I want to try! Have you ever purchased the 200 Block book?

oldcatlady 05-17-2013 01:31 PM

Yes and I love it! It comes with a CD so you can print off the PP blocks. I used the 'Artic...something' to make the snowflake block for Quiltingmommy. I bought it and another back issue from Amazon.

Got all my UFOS done as of today. The only thing left to finish is to send them to the quilters and to finish the yellow Boom 9 when it ends....the biggest decision is how to sash the beautiful yellow blocks you all have made for me! I love these booms!

Its funny, when I show them to my son hes become an "expert" now...found a mistake I made in the mauve quilt so I fixed it. says the blue ones sashing is too "busy" and I should have used another fabric, thinks the red/white/black one should ALL be the Star square in the middle of the quilt...gezz...I guess Ill just keep making till I find one he really likes! Maybe thats his plan! LOL

urgodschild2 05-18-2013 11:39 AM

Wow. My son lives with and he likes to give me input on how to put the blocks together too.

Lovingizabella, do you have email info on ninakk. I haven't heard anything from her and still missing her block. I think several others may be missing hers also. Just wondering.

goldendog55 05-19-2013 03:25 PM

I am looking for a person who mistakenly sent me a fabric from one of her other groups. I have her block done, but can't remember who it belongs to. It is not from Pacific nor Southern groups, but it has a dark brown/black background and red flowers, and green leaves. I would love to send it to a happy owner!

Hi ladies,
Hope allis good, i have had my surgery, and a few problems, but got doc got them fixed, it was a medicine thing the surgery went very well, and im in almost no pain in my knee, so hubby has been heling me and i am getting things togather and i will have the postage on my payday on the 3rd, and the first batch of grown-ups will be going out, I forgot no-one, but i was not listed in the ones that did reciever ock from, and my name should have been there, each block I am trying to make different, i have done some seaching and found material to match each one, and a pattern that says use me with those fabrics, and i am going to cut a few out then rest and then will sew, as i am still a git limited to how long leg can be dow, for sewlling purposes, so hope all is good and i will post names of who i am mailing out and and when, and also will have pics of the grown ups on my page if u want to have a peek, they will be posted the sameday i post the names of whowill be mailed out, thank you all for all your patience in understnading of needing my surgery to done and now I can sew and wuilt, got 2 small wall hangings done and working on a table runner doing the hand sewing now,
