Has anyone been to Wal Mart lately and noticed them doing away with the 2 yard bolts of fabric they had hanging for sale? The one here in Boonville only has the fat quarter 97 cent fabrics left now...not that I ever bought any of their 2 yard bolts but its a shame they cant add more fabric, better fabric, instead of getting rid of what they had. The Wal Marts in Columbia have great fabric and two aisles of it!

Our walmart has the selection but their material is "scattered" and difficult to price at a glance. I actually spoke to the girl that works the section and last week when I went there it was a little better.

The thing that really irritates me is they took the "sale" aisle out and shoved the sale material in with the rest and it takes too long to go through everything. I go to walmart for a deal. If I wanted to buy $6.00 material, I'd go to JoaAnns.

I couldn't remember if I had or hadn't sent a thank to Goldendog55 for the beautiful block I rec'd last week. I have been sick with respiratory infection and asthmatic bronchitis for the last 3 weeks. So my mind is just now functioning again.

Hey,

sorry all who I have the side swap going on (listed below) - I haven't been able to mail the blocks yet. We have had two deaths in the family recently, and the life has been upside down more than enough..... The sad season ends this weekend when the second funeral service takes place.

jaydee3 05-04-2013 05:23 PM

Ninakk, sorry to hear about your losses. It is hard enough for one. I was just thinking about you before I saw your post. Take your time, we understand

moonwork42029 05-04-2013 06:47 PM

[h=5]Well, it's been several hours now since I saved my husband's life. Yes really! We were at TGIF for lunch and he got choked on a piece of steak. He coughed and no sound came out and he acted like he was gagging. I asked him if he was "ok" and he shook his head no. I hit him once between the shoulder blades and he made a little air gasp. I had to actually do the Heimlich on him to get the meat dislodged. It came up and he gasped a deep breath.

The only others people that seemed to notice were a group of teenagers with one mom and I think they freaked out a little. They were finished eating and ready to leave anyway but no one asked what was going on.

I was calm and clear while it was happening but once it was over I noticed my hands shaking and felt slightly dizzy.

If you don't know how to do the Heimlich or think you'll never need it, think again. Things happen in a blink of an eye and your life could be changed forever.

I am extremely thankful I knew what to do and could do it calmly when needed...I hope I never have to do it again but am so thankful my husband is still with me tonight.[/h]

alikat110 05-04-2013 07:37 PM

Moonwork! Thank goodness for your quick action!!!!

Phannie1 05-05-2013 04:46 AM

Moomwork, Glad you had the wits about you to do what was needed. CPR is another tool we all need to know about. We never know when it can save a life. Thanks for sharing your story and I am so glad it has a happy ending. Phannie

joanelizbay 05-05-2013 05:58 AM

Moon, Thank God you knew what to do! I bet hes even more thankful than any one! Good job!

urgodschild2 05-05-2013 07:27 AM

Traveling grandma Thanks you for posting that. I do have it. Yeah. I have updated my list.

Moon.....Thank goodness. I am not surprised that other's did nothing or even noticed. It seems people do not want to get involved now a days.

jaydee3 05-05-2013 10:21 AM

OMG...Thank the Lord you knew what to do. I have only practiced this once and hope I am as capable as you were if I ever have to do it for real.

Phannie1 05-05-2013 11:57 AM

Mosher92, your grown-up block will be making it's way home tomorrow. Phannie

moonwork42029 05-05-2013 04:02 PM

Thanks y'all. I'll tell you, later last night it was more scary than when it happened as all the "what if"s" kept coming to mind.

Final 4 blocks are going home tomorrow 05/06.

Dad is anxiously waiting for the mail everyday so he can do some more re-arranging.

Thanks to all and I hope you like your blocks.

The last four have been updated on my link below if you want to peek at them.

jaydee3 05-06-2013 02:05 PM

Moonwork, my block is absolutely fantastic...tell Dad that the lady from Texas could not replace your wonderful blocks....no way, no how. By the way, loved the Paducah show. We managed to make it to everything on the list, including the Libby Lehman-Alex Anderson show. I feel so honored to have seen her before she fell ill, although it looks a little more promising for her recovery. Sorry, not to have been able to look you up, but my crew had us on the run from daylight til dark.
