Christmas ornament swap 2013
 

Hi Everyone...believe it or not, it's that time of year again. This will be the FOURTH annual Christmas Ornament swap. Here are the details and if you have any questions PM me.

Christmas/Holiday Ornament Swap Guidelines
1. Sign up by October 5th 2013
Mail on November 5, 2013 so they are there in plenty of time to use and enjoy for Christmas.

2. Ornament should be handmade. It doesn't *have* to be quilted, but it does have to be handmade.

3. Each person can do up to two ornaments.

4. This will be a direct person to person mailing to save postage. I will email you the person (people) that you are sending to by October 10th.

5. This will be an international swap so if mailing internationally is a concern for you, please let me know in a PM.

6. If you would like to participate, please PM me the following information:
Screen name
Real name
Address
# of ornaments that you want to swap (1 or 2)

7. Make sure that you enclose a note to let your person know who you are !

10. This is a secret swap and you will not necessarily be mailing to the same person you will receive from.

Ooh I'm excited. I need to think on this but I have some ideas!

I am in for 2, I had a blast doing it last year! Going to my lqs tomorrow for our annual ornament class...where we all get together and my friend Sandee shows us all the new ornaments she has come up with for us to make...we all also share our own ideas...we each take something to eat and spend the day having a blast!

I saw several of the ornaments last year as they were getting made, but I didn't see your slide show of all of them together until today. Now how in the world did I miss that??!! What is wrong with me??? That's a rhetorical question, please don't all bombard me with what is wrong with me...;)

The kitty with the selvage mouse orny is so cute! Then I saw the sheep and cow ones, gave me a chuckle.. I collect pigs, never thought of making an ornament one til now. Lots of talented creative people here...

I'm in again this year for 2 also. They're already done & awaiting my names for mailing. Been watching for this swap to come up.

I had posted it for Lynnie few days back as today we are at lqs working on our annual ornament class, and there is an area with some pics of last years ornaments. Well look who dropped in for a swap! Hello Paintmejudy! Haven't heard much out of you since the last scrappy mystery quilt! Have you thought about doing another one? Say after the holidays? A bunch of us having been missing you girl!

I posted this swap over at the Secret Santa swap because I know quite a few on that thread like to do this one as well. Hope they come over & sign up. It will make for some interesting ornaments!

It sure is! I took pics from today, too. Will try and get them posted tomorrow..shame to be wore out from buying more "absolutely needed" fabric and visiting, eating, and quilting ornaments with friends!!! ;)

I have already made one ornament today while I was sitting at the
Exotic Bird Show.

Will post a picture of it soon as I can get the "final" touches added to

Kiffie, those are just too cute! Which ones are you making this year? Love the tree! I can see that setting next to the larger one in my studio!

Newbie here, am I understanding correctly that we just have to make 1 or 2 ornaments for this swap? How did you get the photos of so many? Sorry if I am not getting the facts straight, I have a headache and I do not usually get them.

Welcome - yes you understand correctly - make one or two ornaments...Thing is, usually folks make more than that just for fun. Some do just make one, but most do more.. You only have ONE partner, so it's up to you if you wish to send more than the one or two. Hope that 'splains it all..lol

Kiffie they are soooo cute!!! the yo yo with baby Jesus is very sweet! Looks like it was a fun workshop!

So sorry...didn't mean to confuse anyone...I am just posting pics of the ornaments that were made at my lqs this past Saturday..and the prior pic was ornaments from last year. Every year we do a Christmas ornament class..I had told Brenda I would share pics, just to give others ideas...I can't take credit for making all of those ornaments, either...lol...We each make a few, and share ideas. If there are extras they go on the little Christmas tree that the owner keeps up year round to display the ornaments "advertising" for next year's class.

I don't know which ones I will make for sure yet. I have a couple made, but they aren't in any of the pics I posted. I have a hard time sticking to just 2..I want to surprise my partner, too...;);)
I sure wish I had the problem of sticking to just 2 when it comes to all the ufos I have around here...sigh...

Thanks, Brenda..I can't take credit for that one...My good friend Sandee (and ornament class leader) loves yo yos!! She decided to make an angel with hers this year...and put the glitter around the head to be the halo.

I am wanting to join, need to look at my time schedule to be able to get them out but the due date. I will know more later in the week.

I love Christmas and the ornaments. Will send the PM as soon as I see what is going on with mom's pending surgery.

Let me see what I come up with and then I will join. I would like to have them made before joining. I love doing the ornament swap.

Lynnie is such an arm breaker. Looking into this. Pretty busy schedule. Would love to participate. Will have to see what I can get done to have some fun.

This will be my first ornament swap. I am so excited. Going to start looking through my stash of fabric and patterns tonight.
