Elisabrat's Fall/Halloween Tablerunner/Mat Swap!



Elisabrat's Table Mat/Runner Swap

This Swap will close August 15th.

Welcome to my swap! This is a Table Mat or Table Runner swap.

A Table Mat would be any shape that would be a centerpiece; this should be a minimum size of 16" across the longest point. For instance, a hexagon table mat that is 16" from one corner to another at its widest point and each of its six sides are 8".
A Table Runner should be a minimum size of 12"x28". Table runners are typically longer than they are wide. Please do not request an excessively long runner from your partner.

How it works:
This swap will be a partnered swap. You will work with your partner to determine colors and sizes that will work with them. THE THEME IS: Falling for runners!

Design and method will be up to the creator but since this is something that will be on a table and likely spilled on, make sure whatever you make is washable on at least a gentle cycle. Good grade cottons only no homespuns or non cotton fabrics in this swap please. You should make something you would put on your own table at home. Take your time, there is no rush to get it out fast. Its better slow but steady and you will be pleased with what you send and your partner will be thrilled to receive it!

Please PM ELISABRAT with the following information by August 15th. She will then match up names and get them returned to you by August 17th. You will have until October 1st to mail the finished product. THIS IS A DEADLINE NOT A GUIDELINE Please do not participate if you believe you can not fulfill this time frame commitment. Please do not ask if you have not finished your commitments in prior tablerunner swaps run by Elisabrat.

It is encouraged and acceptable to post pictures of fabric choices, progress. I would love some lively conversation so lets keep this a fun forum to chat, bounce ideas off each other, assist each other as needed. There will never be a dumb question so ask if you need help. And above all else.. HAVE FUN! Encourage each other!

Please notify Elisabrat as soon as possible if you feel you cannot complete your obligation. Please don’t sign up if you don’t think you can achieve a finished product in the time allotted.

People who fail to follow-through and do not notify Elisabrat will be banned from any of my future swaps (should there be any) and your name may be given to other swap hosts. Obviously, things happen in life and I will certainly consider that, but you must communicate. I reach out fairly regularly to check on progress so there is no excuse for not telling us if there might be a delay.

I am required to insist that participants send Elisabrat a monthly PM to verify that they are still active in this swap and are working on their promised project.

I am required to insist that participants notify Elisabrat as soon as they have finished their quilt and are ready to mail it.

Once I have received notice that both partners are done and ready to mail, I will send both a PM to let them know it’s time to mail.

I am required to insist that all participants send Elisabrat verification of shipment, to include tracking information.

Participants are required to ensure packages will not arrive “postage due.”

Any and all other fees, such as import duties, taxes, etc imposed by the recipient’s government are the sole responsibility of the recipient.

Absent legitimate and reported mitigating circumstances, participants who have not fulfilled their obligation to ship by Oct. 1st shall be deemed “late” and risk receiving Negative [Swap] Feedback.

Please keep in touch with Elisabrat as required. Please let her know right away if something happens that will interfere with your ability to complete your project on time.

Swappers should treat each other as friends and focus on the fun. So … please be prepared to be flexible, patient and understanding if necessary and appropriate.

jaba, this is 1st time I have been 1st "signer upper"..Lol... I haven't been on qb in about 2 wks, so I was thinking I may have even missed sign ups... so excited for this fall/autumn theme, my favorite season!

Oh yipppeee send that PM tlambing! you guys make such terrific runners I am excited to see what falls on the table this time! best go notify the summer people its time to rock and roll for this one. short sign up period hopefully we can get serious players!

OK forgot to mention Please USE BATTING in your runners it helps with hot dishes and PLEASE QUILT your runners,just sewing two pieces of fabric together flipping them doth not create a runner for this swap. a tiny bit of extra energy and you end up with something pretty nice ladies so wanted to make sure that is clear and running in the rules of engagement here. thanks for the clarification need to my special swapper who brought this to my attention. anything else???

:) Hey Brat.....I'm following you! Just think this swap I'll have my embroidery unit up & running! No telling what I'll snatch out of that machine!

I'm not sure what kind to ask for this time. Part of me says I need one to go on the cafe table on my porch for during trick or treating. But, part of me says no, to get it for the sofa table in the foyer. My boyfriend says "how many more of these are we going to get?" :D

You tell that man of yours dustysmomma... as many I as want. Mine would say well then thats wonderful. I am sure yours is as smart. lol I am gifting half off my runners to my daughter she finally has a TABLE now to put them on before it was a counter or a footstool. so last year was wall hangings. Christmas croak if you want to is coming sooner than we all thought. its hard for me to get all things done on time so this is a nice perk. I can make one play with everyone yet have a gift when I am done. My sis has a fall birthday. I should make her one. I am waiting patiently to hear from dustysmom on whether she wants to do a holiday swap or not. I need aprons! for me for gifts .. come on girl.. andele andele!! I love being prepared for the season so when it hits I can sit back and just enjoy. try it sometime its awesome.

Elisabrat- I have a question for you. I love fall and everything about it, but I don't celebrate Halloween myself. Would it be OK to request a fall theme without the Halloween fabrics? Don't change your ideas for me, please, just askin'!

jillnjo, yup is okay. I don't want Halloween either, just nice beautiful fall themed.

So....I already have a pattern and the fabrics...fall, no Halloween...but do I understand that your partner decides what you make? Sorry, just need clarification.

I also would prefer fall over Halloween. I believe if you let your partner know what you would like they should try to meet your needs/desires.

brat is in dialysis this morning, but I think I can answer your questions. We talked about this before and I think when you sign up and send her your info then state if you want fall or halloween. She's going to try to match people up that way. Or if you don't care either way, you can tell her that too. Hope this helps, I'm sure she will check later this afternoon and answer you all for sure, but I think this is right.

No Halloween for me either as we don't really celebrate it. But love any fall themed fabrics and prefer a square/round/hexagon shape rather than a long runner.

Well, Seriously...water aerobics kicked my %&$ tonight! worked until my arms are spaghetti. Hope they'll be functioning tomorrow! On a frivolous note (shh don't tell Brat) I think I'll sit tonight with a little glass o' wine and ponder this swap. What will the design be? Appliqué leaves? Pumpkins? just a nice piece runner in fall batiks??? What if my partner wants Halloween? That's a whole different thing, maybe 2 glasses are in order :)

This is why I didn't buy that fabric when I was at Joann's last weekend! Some want fall, others want Halloween. It was cute fabric too! I can't believe I went in there for an embroidery thread box set for my new machine (which by the way, the store in Columbus, GA now no longer carries any box sets of any thread) and came out without spending a penny!

MORNING QUILTIES! I am listening to 10,000 birds chirping in the front hedge. you cant see them but boy can you hear them and they are so sweet they start singing about 4 am. how lucky! uh not. ok its alright you get used to it. I used to live in the woods and these tiny itty bitty tree frogs made a heck of a racket so this is .. just a racket. Coffee is ready so come on over, anyone want Danish? wish I was making those for a few of you! ok ALL OF YOU not excluding anyone see I can play fair!

I collect glass pumpkins they are so pretty. could keep them out all year but then well where would the valentines stuff and the fourth of July stuff and of course.. well you get the idea.

Dustysmomma you get an award! you went INTO a fabric store and left with nothing. I will call it the WHAT WERE YOU THINKING AWARD! let me help you shop next time as apparently I have no issue with it. I just ordered some clearance fabric from craftconn.com and some tina givens stuff was 1.18 a yard or some ridiculously low price. also got me some turkeys however.. every woman in her right mind needs those. and that yard of skunk fabric was so adorable I had to have some of that too.. and well I did much better than you did shopping. 8 yrds of fabric shipping included 24.00 so not bad. it was the skunks that did me in. now I want the beaver and the squirrel fabric that matches backyard critters or something is the line. way too cute. beware I see a runner in the future for those fabrics.

oh le brat...I see you making place mats to match that critter runner...I'm sure hubby will LOVE the critters you make. Speaking of...how is Wally??? (That is the critter's name that your hubby brought home, right?)

Having a heck of a time here...lots of tears, lots of things throwing in my kitchen last night, lots of fit pitching while lil man and I were in the bedroom watching Jake and the Neverland Pirates and Sophia the First. Somebody has got to find this man a job before I build a woodshed for myself to hid in!!!

Okay Brat...now you got me in trouble. Went to the sale site and 16 fabric cuts later...I'd better get on with what needs to be done around here today!

Good afternoon all, it is ptly sunny, kind of cool but warm when the sun comes out. I spent all morning weeding 2 flower beds and then had to give 3 of the dogs baths! These 3 roll in dirt after they go fishing in the pond and they look like little kids who have been playing in mud puddles - black instead of white and yellow. Need to hang my sheets on the line and then off to the sewing machine! A quilting I will go.....(I'm having a hard time not running off to a quilt shop to pick up a few "fall" colors for my future runner!)
