I've already started to make one! I'll be done by tomorrow... lol... sewing by hand is a pain... but relaxing.

Chele please put on the suggestion list for one of the following months 3D methods. That IMO would be fun. |
I don't know what trapunto is and I'm not sure how to do a 3 D except for tumbling blocks. Of course it is possible I already do something like it, but don't know what it is called. I better get cracking looking it up and practicing.
|
Not sure about 3D, but I know I can't do trapunto at all.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5_wgE74Mro4 It made it so easy, that I've started a flannel quilt with trapunto flowers and it is easy-peasy!! If I can do it, you can too!! |

Here is an easy bow tie pattern that is 3D http://www.babylock.com/ftp/projects...og_Bow_Tie.pdf |

I would like to try this one!

Ok so I am getting confused now, so do we have to have a 3D pattern for our doll quilt? I thought it said in the first post it could be whatever we wanted. Just want to make sure I do the right thing!

Sure you can, it's easy! If I can do it so can you. I made two in December. One for my DQ swap, and one for kwhite. http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-22148-130.htm And yes, February is whatever we want to do. Kwhite was just making a suggestion for some future DQ swap. |

It's quilter's/sender's choice for February. Make something you love and that you'll have fun making. It's nice to get ideas for themes, but I think most of us like winging it. I think if we do have another theme, I'll make it optional as suggested. I love keeping these doll quilt swaps creative and leave it up to the sender to dig deep and create. That's part of the fun in my opinion. It will help us all grow as quilt artists. And oh boy, do we have some artists! Just take a look at your own quilts and all the others. What a creative bunch we are! And you newbies, you'll never know until you try!
I can see that that the doll quilt swappers really stretch themselves trying new techniques, experimenting with color, design, etc. This is your chance! No perfection here. Dive into it and do your best. I can guarantee your quilt will be loved! Okay, I hope my doll quilt propaganda is heard. I want this to be fun for everyone. |
Thanks Chele...I love the 3d idea kwhite...I love that it might be optional too...it depends on what I have time to do for a given month. Those links you posted are sooo cute though. You know I'm gonna have to try it sometime soon.

The US does not charge that tax to recipients, as far as I know. I discovered this in another swap and it was mailings to Canada.
