My mini is still in the planning stages :(

JuneBillie 02-04-2015 08:59 AM

Whigrose that is a very pretty sneak peek. I can't wait to see it all. :) I am also working on yours.

quiltjoey 02-04-2015 11:52 AM

How do you leave a positive reply for a person? I looked on the member's list but can't figure out how to do it. I would love to do that for swappers…. thanks,
Everyone stay warm up in the snow and ice...

Quiltjoey, under someone's name you will see their feedback score is green. Click on that number. Then on the right side you will see a place to click to leave feedback. It's that easy.

Back from vacation and all the laundry is finally done. Hope to get to the sewing room today and start a mini for cuppy. Think my mind went through a sewing detox for being gone 3 weeks, need to get it humming again and come up with an idea...

JuneBillie 02-05-2015 08:48 AM

Jaba it's good to see you back, but I am sure you would love to still be there. lol...

kiffie2413 02-06-2015 06:26 AM

Oooh Whigrose, nice colors...
Can't wait to see more sneak peeks!!

Jaba,
Nice to see you back, and hope you had an amazing time!
Any cruise pics to share with us???

Geesh! I haven't even started my mini yet. I tried one idea but it didn't work at all. Now I have to figure out something else. This isn't like me. I usually have mine finished by now. I am a very bad procrastinator when it comes to other things. But I like to have my quilting obligations finished as soon as I can. I know there is still time so I can relax a little.

Patchesnposies 02-07-2015 07:23 AM

I am so glad there is still time. I am waiting on fabric to get mine started!

tesspug 02-07-2015 03:27 PM

Started a quilt I have had the fabric for for three years. When I get tired of the big blocks I work on the mini. Since I have an Irish grandmother there has to be something of the Emerald Isle in there, but it's going to be subtle. My grandmother said our ancestors were followers of William of Orange, so our Irish color was orange. On St. Patrick's day I always wear orange.

quiltjoey 02-07-2015 04:54 PM

Thanks so much for the instructions!!

I never knew there were other St. Patrick's day colors! It's fun to know old traditions! I haven't even had time to start yet. Though I'm pretty sure I know what I'll be making. I'm trying to finish up two quilts for a friend to gift her step children on Valentine's Day. I got the sons finished today. The daughters is pinned ready to fm. It should be done in a day or so then I'll get busy with your mini. (And now I know your 'orange' tradition...maybe it needs a spot of orange?)

Orange is not really a St. Patrick's Day color. Not all Ireland is Catholic. That is what all the mess was about, the bombings and killing. The Protestants, called the Orangemen who followed the English king William, against the Irish Catholics who wanted the English out of Ireland. That's why the Irish flag is green, white and orange.

Here is a sneak peek of the mini I made for my partner. Will be sending it out Mon. or Tues.

JuneBillie 02-08-2015 04:38 PM

Juanitabean I see some pretty colors, and pretty stitching. One little part looks like something hiding from us. lol..

tlambing 02-09-2015 08:00 PM

Where are all you little Leprechauns?

JuneBillie 02-09-2015 08:05 PM

jaba 02-09-2015 08:06 PM

Busy sewing maybe TL :) or snowed in. Nice in Wyoming the last couple of days... no snow, kind of weird. I finished mine tonight and will be mailing tomorrow.

JuneBillie 02-09-2015 08:14 PM

Jaba you sound like you have it all together. I wish I was more on the ball.

jaba 02-09-2015 08:19 PM

Don't know about that JuneBillie, like everyone else "just trying to stay afloat". If you find that pot of gold, let me know okay? I'll do the same, been looking for it for a very long time.

SheriR 02-09-2015 08:28 PM

I finished the two quilts I was making for a friend for Valentines day gifts. Now I can work on tesspug's mini!! Green/cream....and a splash of orange?

Patchesnposies 02-09-2015 09:14 PM

I was waiting on some fabric, which arrived today! Now I can get busy working on debbyg's mini!

klaws 02-10-2015 05:04 AM

I still haven't figured out what I am going to make. :( I have to get my butt in gear!!!

tlambing 02-10-2015 07:21 AM

I've bitten off a bit more than I expected. I sure hope all of these super tiny pieces go together [biting my nails] I have the weekend free and hoping to get my tiny top finished. I purchased the most lovely backing fabric and can't wait to get my fingers on it!
My daughter moved out last wknd! We are officially empty nesters. I love my kids, but the quiet and not having to worry about shopping and feeding an extra person is oh so nice! Both of our kids now live downtown, only about 6-7 miles. Not a bit of time was spent in the sewing room last wknd, really looking forward to this one :)

MizMelly 02-10-2015 07:38 AM

I called in sick today expecting delivery of a new refrigerator! Just got the call that it's not coming until between 1 and 3 today. So that means I have time to sew!! That is after I finish cleaning out old fridge and cleaning the floor behind it.
Wow. How disgusting is that??
And gee, the old fridge is working better now that I vacuumed out the back of it!! Oh well, it was time to retire the old one and get a new side-by-side instead!!

tlambing 02-10-2015 07:59 AM

Lots of sewing time MizMelly! I know what you mean about the gunk. Moved my daughter last wknd. After her stuff was out, I moved a corner bookcase that she left behind. It almost looked as if there was a cat laying on the carpet behind there! I even took a pic and sent to her. She was appropriately grossed out!
Have a great day of cleaning and sewing. Congrats on the new fridge!

Congrats on your new fridge, MizMelly! I was just hinting to my DH that we need to retire our small one (now that we have TEENAGERS again!) It is amazing just how dusty and dirty it can get behind the appliances isn't it!

LOL TL! The comment about the cat behind the bookcase cracked me up! In our house we do not have dust "bunnies" we have dust "elephants"! They must have good memories, because no matter how many times we sweep them up they come back! FAST!

Elisabrat 02-11-2015 05:52 AM

wait! you mean that stuff behind other things isn't supposed to be there? 20 yrs of dust just grows and grows intrinsically I think. scary stuff. I have pets.. when we move things I am always omg!

jaba we would love to see a pic or four of your trip. I think we could all use a pina colada on the beach somewhere so why not live it vicariously with you!!!

I am anxious to see the next swap I think I am good to go to sign up for it! yahoo! yippee! finally!

WOW, last months minis are all so cute!! Just finished my mini for this month today - had to sew the binding on.

cuppy 02-13-2015 01:31 AM

Lucky me! I received from Jaba , a mini. Thank you. I do hope she will post a photo for me. I will ask her too. I do like it very much. Thank you. I am a bit Irish and it is a bit Irish, that is why I love it. Wow, sure wish my sewing machine could sew like that, I will have to find out what kind she has. :-) Thank you for the Dove Chocolates. I am still working on her mini, I will need at least another week.

klaws 02-13-2015 07:21 AM

I'm off to Joann's and meeting a friend for lunch at Panera Bread. Joann's is having a President's Day sale starting today and there is a 20% off total purchase coupon online if you don't get their flyer. Happy shopping!!! :)
