I wonder if I can ask a question? I hope it's not inappropriate to ask. There is another miniature quilt swap on the QB. Besides this one being monthly, what makes them different ?

There used to be a doll quilt swap, but I haven't seen it in many months. There is a wall hanging swap that I am aware of, but I haven't seen another mini swap. I looked, but didn't see it SheriR.

Sheri we had the mug rug swap which is mini sized being 7 x 9 is the minimum size but it averages about that size?

haven't seen another one however. quiltingkrazy had one for wall hanging swap 12" or so is that what your thinking of? not sure she is doing it she doesn't get to it each month.

Ok, I see. I think I was thinking of the Wall Hanging swap. Her dimensions are "smaller than a lap quilt but larger than a mug rug." This Mini swap is "6 to 18 inches." When I first read instructions for both swaps. Forgive my ignorance. Im just learning this part of quilting.

I'm always up for discovering something new. When you posted I searched thinking I missed something :shock:

I know!!! I saw yours and thought aaaaajhhhhh!!!! But I was already too invested to change. I really loved your pinks! I saw the design on Pinterest and just tried to copy and thought it would just end up whatever size it ends up. I made a replica for myself and I'm quilting it alittle differently to practice some tiny fm! I think I need a lamp by my machine lol. Does anyone else get nervous about giving their work to someone? I do appreciate all the kind words.

With each and every swap I do Brenda! Funny how we set the expectations so high for ourselves....or maybe that's sad. Not sure, but every time I get that nervous feeling.

I just received this beauty from quiltjoey! It's my first and only red work piece! I truly will cherish it JoAnn<3 it's just beautiful. She's also sent me a very nice card, heart notepads and a Chocolate heart! (I'm so proud that I actually got a pic of it!) I'm so very happy! You made my day!

Everyone of the quilts this month is so pretty we are all so lucky to have this swap and each other!!!!

My partner, Dabbler312, and I have been in touch throughout the month. I believe we are on track. She has life going on which may explain her being quiet on the board.

My mini for her is complete. I'm working on a small project for her (which is turning into an addiction:)

I'll be mailing Saturday - I know, it's the 11th hour but -gasp- we have commitments that will fill our time both tomorrow and Friday.

I will send tracking info to both of you when I mail.

Whigrose I understand how life happens. After me and my sweet partner exchanging addresses. Then my lupus reared its ugly head so I will be sending out my mini later today, but I will make sure to send it first class so it will get there soon. Sending out a quilt block too so then clear for the month. (relief) :)

Teresa I will be on time though. So I am not going to go to the corner. lol...

Mine went out in the mail yesterday to Klaws. I was later than I hoped but had so many fingers in so many fires. yikes!

I do get nervous about what I send each and every time. I am not great at this. I see some of the quilting jobs done here and think omg... gulp now I am sending THIS? groan. but it works out ok and I know that not everyone is a rock star at this quilting thing :) so I feel ok. I fall in the not everyone is a rock star category but I do do hand binding! whoop whoop! lol. sometimes it comes out great other times it comes out. I have yet to learn the pull from the back and bring it forward method. I tried twice both times I cut it accidentally doing what I normally do.. and realized too late that well.. that aint going to work! so back to regular binding. good practice for me for sure.

Brat, you worry too much. I know I will love what you sent me. Just remember that I fall in the not everyone is a rock star category also. Although I've been sewing most of my life I've only been quilting for the past year and a half. I consider myself a newbie with a lot to learn! Try to have a good day and stop fretting! :):hug:<3

i, too, fall in the "not rock star" category! And I kinda fret about if the project will be good enough. But I do enjoy the process and excitement of the surprise and getting something specially made for me in the mail!!

SherriR and Quiltjoey, you both made beautiful mini's, all that hand embroidery is fantastic! Rock star category? Not me, I'm pretty much a beginner and have learned so much from being in the swaps. I always worry if the swap project I am working on will be good enough too.

If you're apprehensive about joining for February...just remember, the theme is only a suggestion. You do not have to make a true St. Patrick's mini. You could just go green. A mini pieced in greens, yellows, black, whites and golds would be very pretty.

Such beautiful fabrics used on that mini, it is so pretty! The heart with the swirls is what catches my eye's the most, I am in love with that fabric.

It took some time but Dabbler312's package is finally on the way to her. We have received close to 40" of snow in our area in less than one week. The streets are getting pretty tight in our neighborhood, but it is absolutely gorgeous outside.

I have heard from Laquita, and she loves the mini I sent her, and she is finishing up on mine. If she is still getting settled I will later post pics of what I made for her. :)
